Bitsy Bling Books Reviews Drowned Sorrow

“A thirst-quenching blend of science-fiction with a twist of horror. The fear factor is accomplished not with blood and guts, but through what is not seen. Moonlight Creek provides the perfect setting to intrigue horror fans. It's isolated, mysteriously…

My experience at Career Day with Shoemaker HIgh School in Killeen Texas

On October the 13th of 2010, I had the most intimidating, amazing day of my life. I had been invited, by the school counselor, to be a guest motivation speaker on senior day at Shoemaker High School in Killeen, Texas. It was career day for these kids, and I was asked to share my story in a motivational way.

This was something I had dreamed of since I started my journey of self-discovery and healing about 5 years ago, but I never thought I would truly have the strength and courage to do it.… Continue

The Panamerican - Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat

‘We hitchhiked down California’s scenic route

What your pitch?

This is a very interesting and timely topic for those of us who write. Sooner or later, you're going to want to share your labors, and when you do, having a well developed and polished pitch is alsolutely essential. Interestingly, several of my writing friends and I are currently conducting a workshop on just this topic, so I have a few thoughts to share that have come up in our discussions.

First, the 'elevator pitch' is just that - something short enough that it can be pitched in one… Continue

THE AUDACITY OF AUTHORS

While attending a recent writers conference I overheard a woman say “That author's ego is really out of control.” The catty remark was aimed at an author who did seem pretty full of himself. But it got me to wondering: Is there room for humbleness when it comes to writing?

The dictionary definition of “humble” is “Not proud or haughty, not arrogant or assertive; offered in the spirit of…

Graphic Novel Friday Star Trek Countdown

Am I a total geek, a Trekkie, I think not. I saw this and just had to read it. I saw the Star Trek movie in 2009 with Chris Pine & company and really enjoyed it as did many other people. The bad guy Nero,

played by Eric Bana, intrigued me and I had many questions left unanswered by

the movie, this official prequel graphic novel took care of all of them for me,

from a to z, and then some.

Here is a little bit from the…

10 Tips for Getting Great Endorsements

More important than ivy-league academics or descriptions of your decades of experience, the endorsements you have received and testimonials you have earned convince and sell your readers that you are the top-of-the-line master. Face it, people want to base their decisions on the judgments of someone else they consider an expert. It is true whether they are voting for a candidate or buying a novel. Naturally, it is especially, critically true when they are selecting a how-to book or a text on…
