More Truth than Fiction
Sin Creek, new in the Logan Hunter mystery series by Susan Whitfield, is an eye-opener and a heart-breaker, but with the sweetest redeeming ending.
Having had a long-standing friendship with a detective, when reading Sin Creek, I felt a sense of déjà vu about events I know to be true. These foul crimes do exist and are proliferating all over the…

Have just watched a movie - 'Kids' from 1995. Very confronting, and deals with underage sexual activity. One of the characters is diagnosed HIV positive. This is the most depressing movie I have seen since 'Hunger'. But I don't mind a depressing movie occasionally. Life is not all beer and skittles. But right now I'm ready to go and stick my head in the toilet.
Could be just that I'm exhausted. My other half and I baby sat three kids last night, along with our two, as well as…

The Raven Affair is a fast-moving book that pulls you in from page one. The sense of urgency that Nedelton creates from the get-go grows exponentially as the tale progresses. Raven is a hired hand, on the trail of a war criminal, but he soon finds his assignment isn't what it seems. This book is dynamic and frighteningly believable, full of complex plot twists and sinister…

"Dead of Knight" by William Potter is a thrilling and original mystery novel. As a community, why do we wait until outsiders come into it to tell us that it needs to be cleaned up? Why can’t we just pick up our trash, remove the broken down cars, repair or tire down the dilapidated homes that are not suitable to live in? Are we content with living in our own filth that we have become immune to our surroundings?…

(1st excerpt from Dealer of Death)
by Lawrence Johnson Sr.
Two hours later Steele found himself driving through the roughest
neighborhood in the city. No one in their right mind would come down
here alone in the daytime and most cops wouldn't risk traveling through
this part of town late at night but somehow on this dark, quiet night
Alexander Steele seemed to be drawn to it. There was movement in
shadows of the blocks and blocks of abandon… Continue

New Review.
'Bloody Ham offers an entertaining combination of an old-fashioned whodunit with characters who are fun to meet. It seems everyone on the film set has something to hide and the side threads are as entertaining as the main, twist-filled plot. In short, the book is delightful and recommended to fans of cosies and traditional mysteries'

It would have been nice to report that the 11,000 physicians found guilty of serious misbehavior, between the years 2000-2009, was a strange fluke, unlike any other time in our nation's history.
It would have been terrific to relate that the 2,490 doctors convicted just last year alone, of Murder & Drug-running, Medicare Fraud, Child Molestation and secretly filming their nude patients, for example was, well, surely not the norm.
It would have been super,…

Way back in the late fifties, a man was crossing a street in a city hundreds of miles away from his home and family. He was on a business trip. All of a sudden, he had a feeling that something happened to his wife. Later, in the evening, while he was watching his hometown news, he discovered that his wife was killed that same day in an automotive accident while crossing a street. About the same time he had the premonition.
