What exactly is a call? You might have a phone call, or a call to dinner, or how about a bad call during a ball game? Then there’s a call to action. No - here we’re talking about a call that requires obedience. A better way of saying it, is a
calling.
God has a plan for each of us. There are as many different types of callings as there are people, but two things are common: God’s timing and God’s choosing.
There are various characteristics that…

Excerpted from "Miles to Go."
Even as Lindsay Malone feels new bursts of energy, as she prepares to move into their new home, her daughter Summer faces a creative crisis of formidable proportions.
As the spring days marched along, Summer became more and more restless. Here she was in her senior year, and suddenly, despite several years of single-mindedly pursuing her photography and dabbling in sketching and oil painting, she felt the luster fading from the…

The most blustery months of the year occur in early spring. March and April are rife with wind-blown possibilities, especially because these sun gladdened, blossom-filled months lure everyone outdoors.
We all know that this is kite season, complete with large spools of thread and dazzling colored kites swirling in the sky overhead.
Just last night while walking my dog in the neighborhood park, I saw a kite stuck in the branches of a mulberry tree and was reminded of how when my nephew…

Everybody has creative ideas and dreams. It's the courageous few, through their determination and perseverance who turn dreams into tangible realities, with sustainable consumer needs, and/or purposes in industry or the marketplace.
Playing it safe and doing nothing usually ends with unfulfilled dreamers, looking back over their lives, asking the question, "What if?" What if I followed my bliss and took a chance?…

In the years leading up to the 1950’s there were no resources for the challenged. They were placed in asylums or back rooms and left to die. They were never talked about or acknowledged. They were the silent children. The ones no one wanted. The ones who never given a chance to live. Florida Author Yvonne Mason has given us a story of success in a time of failure for the challenged. She has given a voice to a child born in 1952 who became challenged.…

As time passes I grow more concerned about my destiny, and the future of my children, and their children.
As a child, I anticipated the day when my father would take me for that special, inevitable father/son walk and talk.
To me, it was the time of the changing of the guard, when a boy becomes a man, as directed by his own sire.
In my heart, it would be a "day of days" like no other.
We never had that talk.
I grew up, travelled some, accomplished some more, and yet…

After being sick the last week or so, I've missed celebrating the UK release of my Edwardian historical, Woodland Daughter!
This is the first book I've written set in the early Edwardian era of England and I thoroughly enjoyed writing it.
Another 'first' for me is writing a book where the heroine is married and a mother at the start of the book, that made a wonderful change for me.
Woodland Daughter is only available in hardback, but it…

Revenge consumes the Soul in Voice of Conscience, July 14, 2008
By Martha Jette - See all my reviews
Thoughts of revenge can infest the brain, tear open the heart and consume the soul. Such is the case for 45-year-old Ramzi Ozcomert in Behcet Kaya's book "Voice of Conscience." Vivid memories and horrid dreams constantly took him back to a night of terror when he was just 14. His father, mother and soon-to-be-wed sister were so full of life one minute and then suddenly and…
