The newest online marketing tool for authors is the book video, which is also called a book trailer. By combining video with a voice over and music, the author can promote not only their electronic book, but also their print books that are available through bookstores. More than an ad, the videos are able to go beyond the synopsis to give the reader a deeper understanding of the book. Trailers combined with SEO keywords make an effective marketing tool for both fiction and… Continue

Hello everyone! I have been adding links and information on my website to help other writers. I have links to some of the members sites already. If you have a website that has helpful links and other information for writers, I would be glad to link to your site from mine. Please feel free to link to my website as well (just let me know so I can check it out). Please let me know what link you would like to have posted on my site.
I'm teaching my Ten Million Eyeballs Event tomorrow and Thursday and then on to BookExpo America here in Los Angeles. I spoke on creating bestsellers today at the PMA University. Hope to meet some fellow networkers here.

Book Trailer: An Effective Promotional and Marketing Tool
By
Theresa Chaze
Book trailers are more than images set to music, nor do they just a recap of the book synopsis. In fact, they are an effect promotional tool that will create interest by going beyond the synopsis to the "heart of the book. Although, book trailers are considered promotional material, they are in reality an advertisement. The difference lies in the length and basic format.
If you were to get 10 million eyeballs to see, hear, or learn about you, your book, or your website, here are a few of the things that would happen:
1. The Alexa rank for your website would jump from wherever it is to somewhere in the top 150,000 sites in the world (out of more than 150 million sites and counting).

I'm speaking at the Ten Million Eyeballs Event in Los Angeles, California on May 28th and 29th right before BookExpo America. The event will be in at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I'll be teaching four incredible ways to get five to ten million eyeballs (impressions or visitors) for you, your book, or your website.
Even if you are attending the PMA University, you can walk down the hall to attend this as well. We are in the same hotel.
Robin Jay recently interviewed me on new ways to market your books. It was a great interview. I've made the interview available on my Ning page. Check it out at: http://bookmarket.ning.com/profile/JohnKremer. Look at the audio listings in the left column.
I've also now featured the audio on the main page of BookMarket.ning.com. Check it out on the bottom right of the main page, under Music.
Kate Nowak, the creator of the May You Be Blessed video, kicked off her movie by emailing it to 10 people. The movie, forwarded on to many, many friends of friends, was seen by 3 million people in the first six months. Her Better to Bless website is now a community of blessers as well as a thriving gift shop.

Holly Cow what a great network of which to me a member. I only just joined yesterday and already I've picked up tons of good information on how to promote a book. For me the information is simply invaluable because it comes from direct experience and not simply theory.
Self promotion can be a tough job. This is something which which I am very familiar. In the early 90's I was the owner operator of a small Canadian import / export and distribution company. I sourced products overseas… Continue

Writing is by nature a solitary profession and more than occasionally frustrating. This is especially true when it comes to marketing yourself as a writer, pitching a book proposal or article or promoting something you've already published.
A network like this is a great place for writers to hang out and exchange information, tips and generally rub elbows with other writers. I's often said that misery loves company but, just being part of a supportive network might in fact make one… Continue
