Book Review: ‘Beware of the White’ by Kai Strand

This middle-grade novel was an entertaining, delightful read!

The action begins soon after Terra’s 12th birthday, when she receives an…

Though there’s a bit of backstory in this novel, it’s preferable to read the books in order, if only to find out from the beginning who Cassie is, how she got started as a detective and, especially, how her romance with Evan evolved. Also to understand…

The sight might have looked like a natural phenomenon at first, but it wasn't. I just wished I'd have my camera with me. What happened was my mother-in-law uses every inch of her garden to plant something edible in. So one corner on the end next to the peach tree was where she planted a hill of…

Colours In Blackness - a review

This YA novel reminded me a bit of the Marvel ‘X-Men’ series in that it’s about a group of ‘gifted’ teens who are sent to a special school to help them learn to hone their powers. The main character, Laura, suffers from terrible migraine headaches and during one of these episodes she sees a horrific vision which then comes to pass. Apparently she can predict the future and so she is sent to the school so that she can learn to control her visions and potentially avert disasters from…
