I send out a newsletter for The Circle of Friends every month to my fan base. One of the sections features another talented author. My fan base is young adults (and adults as well), so if you are an author with a book or series aimed at this group, please contact me. I'll accept any genre of YA, but it must be CLEAN.

The Book ‘Em Foundation was formed to fight illiteracy and keep kids from committing crimes. Their slogan is “Buy a book, stop a crook.” There are several Book ‘Em events now and many authors attend and donate proceeds of their books to the cause.
This year’s Book ‘Em in Waynesboro, VA, was another incredible experience. In addition to the main even Saturday, many of the authors visit the surrounding schools. I visited five classrooms, teaching the kids how to create a believable…

Don't know how many you are aware of the Book 'Em Foundation, but their Waynesboro, VA festival is this weekend. There's sixty authors in attendance, including one from Scotland! (And Dirk is a really cool guy - I could listen to him speak for hours!)
Check out the Book 'Em website for a festival near you or to see who is appearing at this weekend's event - there's a full list of talks & discussions, too.

Last year I got to meet an incredible individual, Chaplain Bob Johnson.
His book, "I Saw God", chronicles his experience at Ground Zero after 9/11.
I recently interviewed Bob, and don't let his simple answers fool you - he's an incredibly passionate person and his book will touch your heart!
Thanks Bob for sharing your experience with the world!
Describe “I Saw God” and what readers will experience through this book:

I met Austin a few years ago at a large book festival and receive his newsletter every week. He is always on the go, too! (I thought I was a road warrior, but wow!) Austin was gracious enough to give me some quotes for my upcoming non-fiction book, "Overcoming Obstacles With Spunk! The Keys to leadership & Goal-Setting", and even had time to answer some questions.
Thank you, Austin!
I envy anyone who can write mystery/thriller! How did you come to select that genre for… Continue

Recently I was blessed to meet a new author & friend and she agreed to answer some questions. Her path into the world of EZines intrigued me, as it is yet another opportunity for authors to reach an audience. She is involved in many other areas, including the American Cancer Society and the Kentucky Humane Society. I was touched by her caring attitude and know many will benefit from her today as well! Welcome, Lynn!

I had the opportunity to interview Jill Lubin and here is a little about her latest book:
In an easy-to-read format, GET NOTICED…GET REFERRALS shows consumers how to carefully cultivate and develop relationships by using the same principles publicists and brand managers use to obtain more attention to their products. The book explains how to create an effective sound bite and memorable introductory. It then coaches readers on how to convey a consistent "brag message" that can be used…

I highly recommend that any author who utilizes a digital/POD printer to read this article: http://www.writersweekly.com/the_latest_from_angelahoycom/004597_03272008.html
Amazon's Booksurge is contacting publishers and requesting that they use Booksurge to print their books - or have their Buy Now button removed from their listing on Amazon. This will affect many authors!

It has been one thing to teach this subject at my seminars and another to do through the actual process! But I have begun taking steps to establishing Dancing Lemur Press and hope to begin taking submissions this summer!

Next Thursday, January 17th, I have been asked to speak at the Robeson County Library in Lumberton, NC. They have a very active program, bringing in a new author every month - and from far away as Scotland!
I get the honor of speaking of speaking on my author adventures, my books, and overcoming obstacles. (Which is one of the seminars I teach here in NC - "Overcoming Obstacles With Spunk!")
I got a bit of a practice run with the oldest book club in NC on the 9th, which was a…

Wishing everyone a blessed and wonderful Christmas! Make time for family and remember the reason for the season.
My Christmas holiday kicked off last night with Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert! We were on the 11th row and allowed cameras - I tool over 100 photos! (And posted 20+ of them on my Deviant Art site.)
