Going Down for the Last Time

My very first blog post on the book marketing network, and what am I doing? I'm apologizing! Or, to be more accurate, I'm listing excuses about why I have been a silent participant. Here's my list:

- My first mystery (and second novel), Murder by Mushroom, is being released in 2 weeks from Steeple Hill. Since you guys are writers and marketers, you know what I'm going through right now.

- I have a deadline for a contracted book, and I am only on chapter 5, and it's not going well, and I'm trying not to freak out about it.

- My daughter is getting married in 6 days. The out-of-state house guests start arriving on Thursday.

Can you feel the stress mounting, creeping upward from the chest up to clutch at the throat? The good news is that next Tuesday the biggest and most looming stress factor will be behind me. Maybe then I can lose myself for a while in my WIP, and all the rest of the stress will seep away, as it always does when I'm deeply into a book and falling in love with my characters. (I hope I can fall in love with them. If I can't, how can I expect anyone else to?!)
