Don’t say “ My Book”

Repeat the title of your book!

Don’t say “It’s In My Book”

Chances are the host hasn’t read your book.

Don’t say “ You didn’t read my book! ”

1) Never do a show using a cell phone. They are not reliable.

2) Turn off your call-waiting. Sit Down! Never walk around with the phone.

3) Host rarely read your book and mostly stick to the questions they are provided. Always bring an extra list of questions. (for live interviews)

4) Don’t focus on what the questions will be. Focus on giving the best answer for the question.

5) If you don’t understand a question asked, ask for clarification. Do not assume.

6) You are the expert. Be confident, straight forward and prepared.

7 Compliment the host when a good question is asked.” That is an excellent question”.

8) Remember the host name and use it during conversation.

9) Sell yourself not your book. If they like you, they WILL buy the book.

10) Keep an eye on the clock. If your interview is for 10 minutes, start your wrap up at minute 8 such as mentioning where the book is available, your website and any other information you want the public to know.

11) Relax and be comfortable. Enjoy the media.

12) NEVER say “ you didn’t read my book”. Most host will not read the book even though they request it.

13) DON’T keep saying “ It’s in my book”. Refer to the title of your book so the listeners will remember the title.

14) Get a copy of the interview for your records.
