The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

In case you don't already know it . . .

There are a lot of great people here, some of whom I know and many I hope to get to know better, however, there are two people on this group, who are among the most knowledgeable people around when it comes to book marketing and selling books. Of course, founder John Kremer is one, and in case you have not had the pleasure of meeting him, Rick Frishman is the other. I've had the pleasure to meet and get to know them both and even interviewed them for a publishing audio program I did a while back. I have to say that, not only do they really know what they're talking about, but they are among the nicest people you could meet and are beyond generous when it comes to sharing what they know. I'd suggest you make a point of geting to know them both. No, I'm not a compensated spokesperson but either of them can buy me a cup of coffee at BEA of they want:-)

Sure thing. Go to your local Starbucks, order your coffee, save the receipt, make 3 copies, sign each, place them in a plain envelope and mail into my rebate department. Attention: Book Marketing Coffee Offer, Please allow 6-8 weeks for a response.

...and let's not forget you, Jim Donovan who I fondly refer to as 'the king of networking'! you, yourself, have great knowledge plus the gift of connecting the right people together... now, can I get a cup of coffee from you for this post? (smile)

I agree!
Up until recently I was the Internet Marketing Manager at at HCI Books. Every season we put together a "new author's packet" where I would contribute basic information about marketing your book online etc.. when I got a copy of Rick's book, I immediately though we should be sending his chapter on internet marketing to all of our authors...

At my time at HCI I was always dismayed how few authors put a priority on having a website because they didn't realize how important it is...(I'm sure that doesn't apply to anyone here!) The chapter in Rick's book explained it better than I could have.

And John... everyone in the publishing industry knows who he is :)
