That night Eddie found himself staring up at the stars again. He was oblivious to the passing of a unicorn or two.
He didn’t even notice the curious elves that stood nearby watching his
every move. When he rummaged through
his backpack and pulled out his laptop dozens of flashing lights suddenly
emerged from the nearby forest. A
startled Eddie jumped from the rock he had been sitting on and nearly dropped
his computer. “Do not be alarmed,”
said one of the elves sitting on the tree stump. “They’re just fairies. They are curious just as we are. We have no such magic as this in our
world.” The fairies lit up the night
sky. There were hundreds of them. It was fun to watch for a while but Eddie
had to conserve his battery so he needed to get to work. ....
