BRASS CANNON BOOKS RELEASES FOUR SHORT AUDIOBOOKS

    (Pine Mountain Club, California) Brass Cannon Books, working with three different professional narrators through ACX.com, announces the release of four short audiobooks based on the fiction of Francis Hamit.  Each of these stories is also available on Amazon Kindle in text.
    Sunday In the Park with George is the longest of these and is a story about two security guards at a private amusement park dealing with a devastating family tragedy, aided by a man whose psychic abilities confound even him.  At two hours and twenty-two minutes, and voiced by Michael Ward, of Chicago, it is an exploration of duty in the face of grief.  
    Buying Retail , also voiced by Ward, is the first in a series of stories about Arthur Gordon Grant, a former child star trying to recaptured his acting career while working at the lowest level of the private investigation business as a retail investigator or “shopper”.  Grant and his new partner discover a damsel in distress – a clerk who is being wrongly accused by a manager whose advances she has spurned – and decide to take action that might cost them their jobs.  This presentation runs an hour and nine minutes.
    Risk Analysis , voiced by J. Marshall Bean, also a professional actor from Chicago, is a shorter story, about half an hour, about two lonely people who meet while traveling to Chicago on an airplane and end up spending the night together.  He is a high-level security executive and she is from a small town someplace downstate, unhappily married to the wrong man.  Set just after the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, it is about finding hope in the midst of tragedy and taking risks when conventional wisdom advises against them.
    Last Call at the Tiger Bar , also about half an hour, is about three American enlisted men from a specialized military intelligence company hunting for a top Viet Cong operative in the most famous whorehouse in the Mekong Delta.  Complicating matters is that they know his voice (from radio intercepts) but not his face, and the inconvenient fact that one of them is romantically involved with one of the girls who works there.  This is a story about the brutality and corruption of that war and how good intentions often produce bad results.  It is voiced by Anthony Francis of Boca Raton, Florida, who is a also a professional actor and voice artist.
    All four of these productions were arranged through ACX.com, a subsidiary of Amazon.com, and are distributed exclusively through Audible.com, another Amazon.com company.  All are priced at $6.95 each and can be downloaded from Audible.com, Amazon.com, or iTunes.
