Greetings in the magnificent name of Jesus. This week marks the final lesson on the topic CRISIS IS A FRIEND. So far, we have been discussing what a crisis is, what the bible say about it and whether what our world is experiencing signifies the end of it.

In this final lesson, we will discuss why CRISIS can be viewed as a friend and not entirely as an enemy. Yes you may have lost your job, family member, house or even suffered an earthquake, but in the midst of these, may be God wants to teach you something.

This article may be a bit longer than usual, but i entreat you to take your time not only to read it but contribute.

Crisis is a friend. Importance and How to Overcome it

1. It is only seasonal.
Everything that has a beginning also has an end. No condition is permanent. Only the word of God will last forever. This is why you should view every crisis situation as a friend. Eccles. 3:1 (KJV)
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
Notice the word, to everything, there is a season. Know that what you are going through cannot last forever and that you are going to come out more victorious than before. It may be a loss of job, house, family member or even an earthquake, i dare you to trust the word of God. Dont quit in this season, make sure you outlast the season.

2. It shows a sign that we need to depend on a higher source:
sometimes we think we are invincible until we begin to face a crisis situation. God brings a crisis situation in our lives with the sole purpose to bring us back to Him. It may be an individual or even a whole nation crisis. when we depend on wealth, material possession, earthly pleasures and what we think we possess, God can use crisis to dis-possess us.
“When I was prosperous I said, “Nothing can stop me now!" 7Your favor, O Lord, made me as secure as a mountain. Then you turned away from me, and I was shattered.” Psalm 30:6-7 (NLT)

This verse is an example of individuals who depend on their prosperity thinking that nothing can stop them. God intend to use that situation you are in now to bring you back to Him.
The best-equipped army cannot save a king, nor is great strength enough to save a warrior. 17Don't count on your warhorse to give you victory—for all its strength, it cannot save you”. Psalm 33:16-17 (NLT)

Sometimes, it can even be a nation, a Kingdom and even a countries economy. This is why I strongly believe God is calling the entire world to Himself when we spiritually look what has been happening from the beginning of the year.
It proves to u that God is bigger than our Problems. God can use crisis moments to prove to you that He is bigger than your current situation. Indeed the size of the Living God is bigger than the size of your problem. This is what God wants you to realize. He knows the solution before your crisis

3. It takes away what is weak:
have you noticed that in the event of any major crisis, what is usually weak is destroyed? Take an earthquake for instance; when an earthquake occurs in an area, some buildings stands while some are destroyed. Usually, the buildings that go down are the weak ones. It is the same in our lives. God sometimes uses test and adversities to take away our weakness so that we can advance in our strength.
The life of Joseph can be a very good example. He was well loved by his father. There was no way Joseph could have fulfilled his purpose if he had stayed with his father. He was well loved and favoured among all his brethren’s by his father. God allowed him to go through crisis from the pit to prison to prepare him for his destiny. God used these test and advertise to destroy what was weak in his life so that he could fulfil destiny. For gold to become valuable, it must first pass through furnace to remove the dross, which is the weak and waste portion of it.

4. \It is an opportunity to start again. Jesus said Lazarus was asleep. It facilitates revival. Revival simply means I may be dead but I am coming back to life again. Your faith is only as strong by the faith it survive. Our courage is tested at every crisis. The question is can you rise up again after a big fall?
The only difference between successful people and failures are that, they both fell but one decided to rise up and start again and the other did not. The book of Micah 7:8 says that
Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD himself will be my light. How true this is

5. Crisis is our friend because it simply facilitates change.
Crisis is a change equalizer. Again, what this simply means is that it affects everyone. The rich and poor, married and singles etc all have their share. There is no single individual or nation who is not affected by crisis. So take heart, always remember that you are not the only person who is going through what you are passing through. The main issue is that we all do not normally like the change that comes as a result of crisis.

The kind of changes we cannot do something about. Whatever is happening in the world today, our governments and kingdoms cannot do any thing about them and it is time we begin to look at things from a different perspective.
Instead of been afraid, we must view these crisis situations as human equalizer that is bringing necessary changes to our lives and destinies.
