So, what’s ailing me if my brain is being set right?

So, what’s ailing me if my brain is being set right?

Years of therapy and psychopharmacology still leave me with debilitating symptoms that baffles me and is the bane of my conversations with professional about my health. The seemingly lack of concrete progress is not something that I accept easily. In my fight to be heard I researched all my diagnoses with a focus on the symptoms of these disorders of the brain. I then looked at the medications and I am now in the process of assessing my feeling on the merits of the side effects to prescribed medicines and the long term ramifications of having had these disorders (some untreated) for a long time.

The result of my findings was prompted by my agonized cry to myself, “So. What’s ailing me if my brain is being set right?” I am still ailing, suffering loss of days and therefore a lack of continuity with my life. I seem to keep picking up where I left off a few weeks off days before – but disconnected from the people and activities that were part of my world. They had moved on.

Needles to say, I will not give up my quest to live my live to its fullest, even without answers to my question.
