My deepest condolances go out to John Travolta and Kelly Preston, who lost their 16 year old son, Jett nine months ago. And to all parents who have lost a child. A parent never gets over this loss, as it is the deepest wound a heart can suffer.

Former President Bush and wife Barabara lost their daughter when she was a little girl to cancer and Academy Award Winning Actor, Cliff Robertson lost a grown daughter too. Cancer is a terrible disease, and we all need to fight it, which is why part of the proceeds from every book goes to help fight cancer.

Kelly was suppose to speak at the upcoming "California Women's Conference" October 26th. She was on the panel for Grief and Resilience, but declined, saying it was just too soon.

While doing research for my book, this was one of the hardest chapters that I had to face and I debated long and hard on whether or not to include it.

My fear was that it would be too sad, too raw for anyone to read and my goal was not to focus on pain and saddness, but on the love that was there. Even if a child is only a few minutes old, there is great love there.

When talking to a parent who has lost a child you feel lost as to what to say, but I remembered back when Mike died and although he was a grown man, I still grieved over how to tell his mother, after all, he was still her child.

Out of respect for her, I added this chapter in the book, and I think it has the most intense dream stories, but also the richest ones. To avoid making the chapter sound too bitter sweet, I gave it the title of Dreams of Sons and Daughters, and not dreams of children.
