For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.-Romans 5:6-11
In life we have two choices to make; the choice to receive Jesus Christ or the choice to reject Jesus Christ as our savior. Either way it goes we all have a cross we must carry one cross will lead to paradise and the other cross will lead to eternal torment. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ painted this picture for all of mankind.
On the left hand side of Jesus Christ was the representation of all mankind who have chosen not to receive the gift of eternal life. These are human beings who have in their hearts the desire not to have God as their master. They would rather go through life serving themselves and doing what they please. They have sinned before God and have been tried and found guilty and there is no lawyer or mediator that can set them free. They went through life making their own decisions on how they should live and ultimately it made them miserable and left them in agony in this life and the life to come. They don’t have peace with God because they have no sacrifice for their sins but their own life and in the day of judgment God will require their own life as payment for their sins. God has ultimately given these people the desires of their heart because they didn’t want to walk with Jesus on earth so why would they want to walk with him in eternity. The good times they experienced in life will be the only good times they ever will have how sad because those good times came and went. Listen to the speech of those who have rejected Jesus Christ as their personal savior and choose to die for themselves Luke 23:29 “And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.” Listen to the voice of all the atheist, humanist, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, Muslims, Buddhist, Hindus, and all others who chose their own way to heaven and reject the sacrifice provided for them. The taunting of Jesus Christ, the questioning of his ability to die for our sins and save us, and the disbelief of him truly being the Messiah. This is the true heart of all men and women who don’t believe in Jesus Christ they laughed at God in an hour when God cried and suffered for them. Then they say God is not fair how could he send someone to suffer forever in eternal fire? God is just the problem is they have simply rejected his mercy, grace and his gift of salvation. John 3:18-19 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
On the right hand side of Jesus Christ is the representation of all mankind who have chosen to receive the gift of eternal life. These are human beings who desire in their hearts that God be their Father and are willing to submit unto his authority. These are human beings who are guilty before God and are sinners and have been to court and judged but they had a lawyer, a mediator on their side whose name was Jesus Christ. These human beings recognized Jesus as the true way to eternal life and that truth has made them free men before an almighty God. These are people who went through life and realized before their life was over that they couldn’t go to heaven based on the fact that they were sinners. They realized that they wanted to go to heaven and they sought the truth and the truth sought them back. When they found the truth they were sorry for their sins and were willing to do whatever was necessary to receive their salvation. Then they heard the good news that it wasn’t any work to be done only believe in the one who has given his life for you and turn from your wicked ways by giving your heart to him. These people made a decision to live for God and not for themselves hear their voice in Luke 23:40-43 “But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” How beautiful it is when we recognize that God is just in sending us to hell because our sins have earned us that damnation and yet we see the mercy and love of God to die in our place if we just believe that he would and has. Jesus paid the price for this guilty man and told him today he would be in paradise with him. The desire of his heart was to be with Jesus and God gave him that gift and not only him but all who choose this road. John 1:9-12 “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
In the middle of all human beings is the choice we must make and that choice is Jesus Christ. If we choose him then we walk on the right road to eternal life and if we reject him then we walk on the left road to eternal damnation or hell. Jesus stands between us and God the father as a mediator for or sins 1 Timothy 2:5 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” Jesus is our mouthpiece he is our lawyer before an almighty God 1 John 2:1 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” We are all guilty before God whether we receive Jesus Christ or not the difference is that Jesus came to take away the sins of the world John 1:29 “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Jesus has done just that are only job is to believe that he has taken away our sins by accepting him as our savior. Nobody in the world has ever made that announcement that his death would take away the sins of the world but people worship other people as their Messiah still. Elvis couldn’t die for the sins of humanity yet people are still waiting for his return. Tupac Shakur didn’t die so all of mankind could be saved yet people are still waiting for his return. Bruce Lee, Harry Houdini, Buddha, Mohammed, Gandhi, Moses, Martin Luther King Jr., and all the Pharaoh’s of Egypt are not coming back to life to save the world. It is very unfair to Jesus and President Obama that some people have began to worship Obam as a savior when he never promised that he would die for the world and take away our sins. We are all human beings faced with the same choice will we allow Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins or will we pay the price ourselves. Matthew 25:33, 34, 41 “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” Which path will you choose but before you make that decision understand one thing:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.-John 3:16
