Chapter 1 – The History – Page 1

Jamie Tomas Williams was born to Lloyd Williams and Betty DeMolay Williams on July 25, 1949 in Languedoc, New Jersey, seven hundred years after the DeMolay family landed on the shores of the future state of New Jersey, on July 25, 1249.

The DeMolay family had owned villas in Southern France near the town of Languedoc. The family lived on this land for over a thousand years, they lived in peace with their Catholic and Cathar neighbors, they aided in the birth of their children and treated their sick. The DeMolays were different from most families. They were witches and warlocks; Mother Isobel was a two-hundred-forty-year old, Tier-2 witch, with wavy platinum blond hair and bewitching blue eyes, tanned, five foot eight inches tall, one hundred ten pounds, she was the matriarch of the family. Members of the DeMolay family had either platinum blond hair and blue eyes or black hair and green eyes. The men were six foot four inches tall and the women were five foot eight inches tall, their weights varied. The family kept the area free of plagues, which were killing thousands at the time, and kept the infant mortality rate in the area low. Most of the men worked the vineyards and produced the finest wine in all of France. A small number of men were warriors.

There were four levels of witches: Tier-0, Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3. The majority of witches were Tier-3 witches, which are the least powerful. For the first twenty years of witches and warlocks' lives, they grow and age at the same rate as a human. The aging process slowed down after that; for every twenty years, a witch aged one year. It was not unusual for a Tier-2 witch to live over one thousand years before they took the Long Walk to heaven. For three days after death, her spirit came back and celebrated her life with friends and relatives. She then walked into a yellow mist to meet her maker and wait for rebirth.
