For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

Where do I begin?

I did not really begin marketing becuase when the book came out it had errors, I have gotten it corrected and now am in the middle of a reprint. I would like to begin marketing for the book but am not sure where to begin. Any ides would be great!!!!

Comment by Francis Hamit on April 28, 2009 at 11:19pm: I'm sympathetic Jenna, being both an Army brat and a Vietnam veteran, but you have to break down the problem into discreet components. Who is the book written for? Other soldiers? Or people who know people in the military? Or civilians?

Next, is the book POD? If so, who's your printer? And how do they distribute?
Are you still on active duty? There are distributors for the AAFEES system, but you have to be able to deal in quantity.

Does the book have an ISBN?

Comment by Jenna Turnipseed on April 19, 2009 at 6:57pm: It's a military book, just look up army and military I got 20.4 million and 13.6 million searches in march alone. I'm not sure exactly how it directly relates to the size of my market, as compared to anything else. My book is about the life of a soldier, but rather then seeing my market as other soldiers I see it as being more the family's of soldiers.
