The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I should be in bed, and believe me, it's where I'm going as soon as I post. I'm organising a launch for my new novel, 'Abernethy' (Zeus Publications, www.zeus-publications.com), along with associated author talks, book signings, school appearances; the whole shebang, I suppose. I'm finding Facebook an interesting way of getting the point out there. Some new friends I've made (via common interests) have written on their own walls about the book, and have told me they will buy it. Here's hoping (but it's hard to type with your fingers crossed). Do you ever wish you could occasionally just twist someone's arm up their back, or blackmail them into buying your book? Of course, you'd get the royalty but there's no joy in someone not buying your book because they think it looks like a great read.

I've got some paid work coming up over the next couple of weeks, which is good what with having to cater for a book launch. What's not necessarily so good is that I'll be working for the senior partner, and he just does my head in. Socially, he's very pleasant. To work for, he's very professional which I greatly admire; however he's so fussy and anally retentive, he's probably not had a decent crap since the First Gulf War. I'll just look on the bright side, that being he said he would buy my book!

Good night to all, and to all a good night (yeah, I know, I'm quoting someone else!)
