Hi Gretchen. Thank you for replying to the invitation. The chat was fun, an experience that was new to me so I stretched my wings.

Hi Gretchen - I don't know if I ever got back to you about your question as to how long it took me to write my novel. If I didn't reply to you I am very sorry. I worked on the book as time permitted for about 10 years, starting back around 1996 as I recall.

By the way, I just noticed your message about the writing sojourn in Italy. I'd LOVE to take part in that but won't be able to. Too many obligations here at home. I really must get to Italy one day. My grandfather came from a small town called Cosenza located in the South of Italy.

I have just been told of a writing sojourn that will take place in
Italy.
It looks fantastic and I wonder how many of you might also be
interested?

I don't have any knowledge about the legality of what Lulu is doing. They should be able to pay you -- if nothing else, via a PayPal account.

I had a bit of a shock this past week when I suddenly discovered that
having my book on Lulu was turning out to be a nightmare.
I am wondering how many of you self-published authors have used Lulu, but live out of the USA? It seems that if you want to be paid royalties - you need to have a USA Tax Certificate first. Now why I wonder. if I don't live there? Can anybody help me with this issue?

Hi Gretchen,

Thanks for your message. The interview with Dr. Capista was for anyone who purchased his book. We didn't open this to the public, but have had numerous requests to do another interview. It is likely we will very soon.

My best
Kathleen

Hi Gretchen,
Yes, great to know you are here.
Join Lulu.com and if you purchase their ISBN they will automatically see that your book features on AMAZON.
Have a great weekend,
Susan

Dear Susan,
To be honest - I have not done too much, but I know I should.
Where to start?

Maybe you can tell me how you get a Lulu published book onto Amazon. Can you?

Thank you for your interest.

Now is always the best time for anything. :)
I am about to have my first published book. It is an exciting experience - but also daunting, because the whole self marketing idea does not appeal to me too much.
Any advice on how best to go about this?

Hi Nadia, I see you do poetry. I love poetry and have tried it but I have to be honest, it only really hits me every few months. So that hardly makes me one. I do try and add them to my novels though. One of those "can't resist" things.
Would love to read some of yours.
