Hi Kim,

I agree with your retail pricing structure...but, I did say "or more" when I referred to the price of booklets. What I probably should have said -- I can bundle booklets together at a discount with my hardbound book and up-sell the package as an incentive. But if a speaker doesn't have a regular book to promote then the unbundled prices would be more appropriate. Yes, you could still charge the full price of booklets in a bundled pkg, but the overall numbers could generally average less in terms of number of bundled pkgs. sold at an event w/o incentives. I'm the first to admit, though, that everyone's experience can be different, based upon the demographics and psychographics of an audience:-)

Hi Kim,
In the world of public speaking, booklets are very powerful media to provide at your "back of room" book tables. They can be an inexpensive way to sort out specific ideas and matching resources at a price that is often more affordable than a book--yet allows the speaker/author to gain additional marketing, branding and income in the process (how's that for a run-on sentence). Three or four well-constructed booklets, at $2.50 to $3.50 (or more) can equal the sale of a book--or upsale in addition to your books.

Many professional speakers in the National Speakers Association started out with booklets (that often came from their articles, keynotes, workshops or seminars)--then combined them as chapters in their books.

Great service you're providing. I wish you and your clients and bloggers great success!

Well yes and no. I was only similar to Marcinko in the fact that I despised being told what to do. I did my job extremely well (construction/ industrial electrical repair/heating and cooling) but I fought authority at every turn.
I learned years later that most of this was because I was bipolar. I've always been a creative type. Problem for me was I never knew how to express it productively so I was a social disaster.
I've since sorted that all out and the way I did it had everything to do with my Marine background.
I was not supposed to get better according to the pros. Eventually I chose not to listen to them either. That's when I finally got better. The process is what I share with others who are suffering. My story should inspire hope. I was pretty messed up but I got out.
Take care!

Thanks for the invitation Craig!
I used to have a stache like that. It curled all the way up beside my nose. Wished I'd've taken a picture.
I'm curious: what do you make of Richard Marcinko's books - The Rogue Warrior series? I'm a big fan and when I was in the Marines I was similar to Marcinko. Not as deadly, just similar attitude.
Take care,
Ken

Thank you Craig. It was good to hear from you. Compared to the studios you're talking about, I'm just playing at production.

Hello Craig,

Great to meet you. Your thriller looks interesting. Are you a part of the Intenational Thriller Writers group? www.thrillerwriters.org/ They have a free newsletter. I was at their first ThrillerFest last summer in Phoenix and met a number of excellent thriller writers.

Keep up the good effort.

Hello Craig, good to meet you and thanks for your comments. It was hard to go forward after my oldest son was killed and that's when I started the Jeff Dicks Coaliton to ensure that others were not denied medical care while inside. Id already been speaking to teens at the schools and I just continued on with it.

Having my youngest son killed last year almost did me in, but I realized that their stories must be told and while I haven't gone to any schools since then, the DVD's are still going to schools. I'm going to do a video of my speech so they will still know about Jeff and Trevor, and if I can get back to speaking again without breaking down, I will do it.... Shirley
