How's your elevator speech? You know, that little blurb that you have at the ready when someone asks, "so what's your book about?", or "what do you do?".

Hi all,

First of all, Hello!

Second, I have a question based on the recent note in John's newsletter about people sending in less than polished letters to edtiors etc.

It continues to amaze me that writers do this, especially when they have more access to editors than the average person. I'm wondering if people don't seek out editing because they feel embarassed they need help writing as a writer, or if it's to save time, don't know who to turn to etc.
