Across yon shield wa, quo’ the Ghaist,
In tyme of war ye threw thyself,
For ye canna now extinguish, honorable Thane,
The fiery scar o’er thy ruddy cheek,
Wi’ gilded Targe and unforgiving Fury,
High flames falling athwart thy wame.
