The Book Marketing Network

For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers

I have been contacted by bookwhirl.com about marketing my book. Is anyone familiar with this website? It seems like a scam to me.

I don't know that site, but they have a WARNING on it about some sort of email scam involving their name:

BookWhirl.com warns the public against a scam e-mail involving false allegations and bad publicity about the company. BookWhirl.com is conducting an on-going investigation regarding an e-mail scam that has been circulated by an unknown person with an e-mail address of scammed_author@aol.com.

So I don't really know.

I haven't heard of them either. You can check out Predators & Editors - a great site for learning about publishers, agents, marketing firms, etc.
