For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers
"Your life changes when you meet people." - Sterling Valentine
I want to encourage the authors and publishers on this Book Marketing Network to work together to help each other to sell more books. That's the main reason I created this network in the first place.
There are so many ways that you can help each other. For example, I wrote an article on 30 Ways to Help a Book Author You Love - http://www.bookmarket.com/loveawriter.htm. Most of those ways apply not only to your friends but also to authors helping each other.
In addition, you can do joint ventures, Amazon Bestseller Campaigns, blog tours, and more.
Please use this forum right here to list your requests for partners as well as your responses or offers to help other authors.
You'll be amazed at what you can accomplish if you work together rather than alone.
For example, I'd love to see a fiction writers co-op promotion where each novelist promotes the other members in the co-op on their blog or website or social network. Tweet about each other. Like each others' Facebook page. Do joint blog tours.
Poets can do the same thing. So can business book authors. Spiritual authors. Christian authors. Cookbook authors. Etc.

John,
Thanks for accepting me into the group.
I have to echo your initial though about helping authors work together to sell more books. I have tried to do that in several ways in the short time since publishing my short story in April.
I created and maintain a list for authors with 99 cent works to promote one another, like each other's books, tag them on Amazon, tweet about them on Twitter, post about them on Facebook, etc. The list is called The 99 Cent Club and it is located here:
Kindleboards: http://www.kindleboards.com/index.php?topic=69668.0
Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/forum/meet%20our%20authors/ref=cm_cd_rvt_np?_...
Additionally - I just setup a group called The 99 Cent Club on Facebook as well for authors to post in - enjoy each other's works, etc., etc.
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_22471841755673...
The general idea of forum threads and FB group is to basically foster a sense of community among the fellow authors, expose each other to works and genres we wouldn't typically try for ourselves, purchase, read, and review (if they want) each other's works, etc., etc.
Anyway - thanks for the invite to your network - off to poke around and see what I can find and/or contribute.
Raymond
Thanks John for the shared wisdom and for continuing to maintain this exceptional site.

Theresa,
I too am baffled by the lack of interest. Apologies for not responding myself: I did not see your offer. Feel free to add a link to your site on our new reader's corner page on my site. You can write your own commentary and link context:
(http://abacus-es.com/readerscorneradd.html). Make sure to use the word "author" in the entry somewhere. To control spam, our program looks for it.
What a superb idea! Count me in.
Also: I have started a reader's corner page on my site. Feel free to link to yours, writing your own commentary and link context:

What a great idea!
I have a publicist who is encouraging me to purchase banner/cover ads on blogs and Kindle book review sites. I would like to see if my fellow authors have had any success with obtaining sales from banner ads.
True. Maybe I should have been more clear. I meant ads on sites like Kindle Boards.
I am beginning promotion of my latest book, Presentational Skills for the Next Generation, the ultimate guide for public speakers and those who want to be. The book site is at http://www.GingerMarksBooks.com.
I would like to find others interested in Amazon Book launch promotion and blog tours. Any other ideas would be great.
Thanks,
Ginger Marks

I do hope you succeed with your venture, but I must pick you up on your post; it is full of errors and typos. You really need to read over your posts before submitting them, otherwise you are likely to put potential readers off. Please take this advice in the spirit in which it is intended; to help you.
