Regency rap?

Yes, it's true, the author knows the book best. The first thing we do is select the music and board sequences to fit it and create the story. Music is perhaps the most important factor many people overlook.

I've seen great visual images depicting fantasy or heroic books but set to hard rock, head-banging music!

Exactly.  Mass production is not always the way to win hearts and minds.

One reason I urge author-made videos is because the writer has a unique sense of the "feel" of the book and therefore the appropriate style and production value of the video.

Those sword epics you do are the toughest, I would say. It has to look really good.  And I've seen some epic fails on trying to get all medieval.

LOL.  It was cute and made me laugh. I liked the pop top medal. And yes, the scratchy record effect gave it an old time feel.

Low quality doesn't necessarily equal 'bad'. I've seen book trailers the author claimed was made by pros that I stopped watching after a few seconds.

Wanna see a low quality one?  :-)

I punched this out for a promo for the book.  It's the sort of thing where sloppy doesn't matter that much, as you can probably tell from the content.

I especially like the scratchy record effect on the music.

LOL My husband knows Flash. I'm just the director.

Ah, Flash.  Nice.  A bit high priced and learning-curved for most writers, but definitely high quality output.
