Hi everyone, I'm really excited about joining this group as I am a debut author and looking for ideas and information on the best ways for promoting my self published book, In Silence, Discovering Self through Meditation. I invite you to my official author site http://www.in-silence.net and my holistic wellness site http://goldenlightcentre.com . I look forward to reading this site and receiving messages from you.
I'm not an author, but I clerk for the promo dept. at a midsize publishing company. We've been talking a lot lately about how effective some of the personal internet sites are getting for book promotion. Facebook, Myspace, LibraryThing, StumbleUpon, and Diggit. Does everyone use these?
i have a question. has anyone familiar or dealt with publicbookshelf.com? i did a google last night trying to add some more sites where i can promote my book and came across them. at first i thought it was just a showcase/bookstore site and started signing up then realize or caught somewhere in print that they publish and that you were being considered for being published. ( you also get considered for an advance). i filled it out anyways and they just wrote back with an offer of $50.
I have three self published books out now and do all my own promos. I hope to pick up some tips here.
