Shirley Kiger Connolly

Profile Information:

Something About Me and My Book:
My first inspirational romance was released in 2005, but I have since begun working on several projects that make my eyes swim from one day to the next, especially if one wants to include promoting and marketing.

In April 2008 my historical romance, (see the picture below) FLAME FROM WITHIN (time period 1864) will be released through Vintage Romance Publishing. I couldn't be more excited! I have just completed the sequel and am in process of finding the publisher for that one where the time period is set around 1878.

My three part devotional series:
I See God in the Simple Things, I See God in the Thorns n Thistles, and I See God on That Narrow Road will be published through the new Vintage Spirit Line beginning in 2009. Be sure to watch for them.

Come visit me at my website. Won't you?

Hi, Shirley! Welcome, and thank you for the Friend invite; I gladly accept! I see you're a fellow member of RWA/FHL and ACFW. We'll have to look each other up over there! I did stop by your "real" website, and would like to invite you to visit mine, www.Julieeller.com. I was going to mention a site I've recently joined, "Signed By The Author.com. Check it out, if you haven't heard of it. It's primarily Christian/Inspirational authors; people visit the site, order the books and the author receives an e-mail informing them who the book is to be signed to, and then mails it out. I'm excited to be associated with them and am trying to get the word out to other authors.

I'm gearing up for release of my first book, "A New Promise" , next Tuesday, 9/11. The enemy has been throwing obstacles in my path since I signed with my publisher, and continues to voice his objection to this book coming to life--I take it to mean that he knows the Lord has an awesome purpose for this ministry.

    So nice to meet you!!

    Blessings--
    Julie

Hello Shirley ~ Congratulations on your success. I'm just about to learn how to write Christian romances. I have not attempted that venue as yet; my novel is paranormal, romantic suspense. It's been referred to as a ghost story, but I disagree. There are no hauntings, per se, just a psychic protagonist. I have a new e-zine, which is where I met Shelagh. It's a magazine for writers and we look for fresh voices, new faces to put on our pages. Visit and see if you'd like to submit something of yours. The guidelines are on the homepage.

Every good wish for your continued success.

    Hi Shirley,
I wrote my first book A Healing Heart: Spiritual Renewal November 6, 2006. It's a very emotional and powerful memoir about love, faith, miracles, and hopefully, the actions of God in our lives.
I wrote from learning too late what my father was all about as one of the commanding officers of the 26th Yankee Division and a retired Brigadier General. I have a spiritual renewal and take a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in Bosnia for peace.
I'm working on my second book, Please God, Not Two, based on a true story after losing my husband, RIchard (1985) at forty-five and a daughter, Lori, at thirty-nine (11/6/06) both from Cirrhosis.
Visit my site: www.ahealingheart.net. I added my video on this website. Enjoy!
  • Pastor Sharon Billington

I send you greetings of peace and love from the rest of the family. They, like I, are always with you and never leave or forsake you. The angels and the rest of us want you to know how precious you are to us.

When I agreed to give up my divinity and be born in the flesh, I did so very willingly. I looked forward to the time when we, you and us, could all be together and share in everything that is. I looked forward to loving you, hugging you, comforting you and encouraging you so that, when your life gets tough, you will feel secure and supported enough to face whatever you have to face. I looked forward to being the one you could rely upon unconditionally for that strength, comfort and encouragement whenever and however you need it.

Not only that, I looked forward to sharing with you that we created you to love you, and that we so hoped and desired that you would love us back. We want you in our life, and we love it when you want us in yours. It was so exciting when I could turn to my disciples and expand our relationship to include friendship and true fellowship. I offer that friendship and fellowship to you today as well, and I look forward to your inviting me into your life in that way.

You can see there are many reasons why I came in the flesh so many years ago. There’s more! I also wanted to set you free from thoughts and behaviors that hurt you emotionally and spiritually. If you were hurt by people or experienced hard times in your life and lost things like your health, relationships, or your way of life because of disaster or unemployment, I wanted to give you the tips and tools as well as the encouragement to recover emotionally and spiritually from who or what hurt you so you could have the kind of life I want you to enjoy.

Most of you understand why I sacrificed my life for you and what an act of love that was. It is my hope that this letter will help you understand how very much more my life and ministry were to accomplish. I look forward to expanding our relationship now and forever.

    Joyfully, Jesus

    Hi Shirley,
Thanks for inviting me to your site. I'm working on my second book, Please God, Not Two. It's about my life living with and losing a husband and daughter from alcoholism. My first one was a memoir, A Healing Heart. I'm going to be leaving MA to do a book signing in Orlando, Fl. I hope I do well. The Orlando Sentinel is going to put it in their paper. Everything helps.
Promoting and Marketing is so hard. Writing was the easy part.

  • albertasequeira

    Hi Shirley,
It's so hard getting my book out there. I've been doing book signing in the area but want to expand out of MA. It won't get out there if I stay in just my area.
Feb. 8th I have a signing at B&N on International Drive in Orlando. We're on vacation there. The Orlando Sentinel is supposed to carry it.
I haven't done an ad in a long time either. A lot going on.
Let me know when your books is out. Who is publishing it?
    Alberta

Looks like you have a great content line! Way to go!
  • Karen Anne Webb

Thanks for friending me, Shirley! Boy, looks like we have some things in common. I'm in the fantasy genre but definitely include elements of romance and work very hard to infuse my adventures with a spiritual texture so it's clear there is a benevolent Creator at work in the universe, and that man's struggles are rewarded if he has faith (and my characters have all sorts of struggles, including learning to work together to achieve this massive overall quest they're on. It's been fun and interesting trying to put my very real beliefs to work in a fantasy universe that has my questors going from ancient Mu and Greece with their multiplicity of gods to the home world of my "fish out of water" character, which is definitely an alternate earth that is largely monotheisitc. Good luck with your work!
