Hi Bill, Thanks for the friend invitation. I am a new author and I am learning something new everyday about the marketing process. My book was recently released and although it is listed on Amazon.com I still have to lead buyers to the site and that is proving to be challenging.

To all of you out their in the title realm of AUTHOR. I have since the release of my book have been very fortunate to sell over 4000, that's right 4K copies of my book without using a PR Firm, Marketing Company or a Book Agent. I am in the process of creating a Power Point presentation entitled, "Write like a SAINT, Sell like a SINNER" that I will be charging $200.00 for the information discussed within the material. I will be sending out copies of what was presented to all that paid via their personal email. My only goal when I wrote the book was to make enough money to buy a church and pay off my school loans well I am off to a great start and believe that I will reach my target of just 50K books sold by January 2010. Can anyone else out here on this network say the same. Believe me as a self published writer, I have gone through all the headaches associated with marketing your book and how companies charge 5-15K upfront money for a book that will probably not get that far with their tactics. I know that $200.00 is a mere fraction of what they are charging you and best of all you control the amount of money you make off of your book. My email is ceasetosuffer@gmail.com once you do this you will kick yourself in the patoot for not doing it sooner. GOD bless.

it is in Urdu. I seriously want some publishing agency to translate and print it into english and/or other languages. It is the PhD thesis of my late father, which was published 12 years after his death. it basically discusses how social values affect a writers trend and thinking about some topic, and he has analized how the orientalist did a great job for recovery of Islamic books but how they were influeced by the general atmosphere of condemning.

Good evening Bill, I've been so busy at work I haven't been on the site in about a week. I just saw what you had posted and I'm going to check it out this weekend. I self published my first book in May and I've completed a second one and I'm kicking around the idea of combining the two and possibly approach a agent or agency to shop my manuscript around. Hope the holiday prep is going well and I hope you and your family are doing well. Nick Alvis

Most significant publishers refuse to look at unagented work. Those of us who are not represented can't get our work read by the major publishers, the ones with large distribution.

Thank you. I think knowing how to represent it and what I feel comfortable to talk about that is in the book with the public which is making me grow as a person definitely. Thank you for befriending me. I definitely will browse your site.

"...the impact of digitization..." as far as books are concerned is a suspected and assumed act of environmental protectionism. Am I right? Throughout many years of college, the term "paperless society' was repetitious. Humanity has entered the era, holding on to the familiarities of the past, succumbing slowly to the change. However, the elderly and the blind and disabled continue to require paper-type reading materials. They are one of my important target audiences. No one should ever be left out.

My biggest challenge is getting people to buy the book and getting the book advertised. I only sold 50 books in one month with no publicity.

A handshake may be a humble gesture but is to me quite profound. The outstretched arm with an open hand signifying safety (no weapon). Being “well met” and made welcome. I definitely feel well coming to this site. My thanks to you, Bill.
