- I am the author of a dozen prize-winning books: The Goodbye Door is my latest. In the spring my due true crime book, Gold Medal Killer will be published by Marquette Books. It tells the incredible story of the only Olympic champion to go to the electric chair. He was Dr. James Howard Snook, an Ohio State University professor and murdered his coed sweetheart (1929). He was executed less than a year later at the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus.
Before I began writing historical true crime, I was a journalist. I have lived in Dublin, Ohio, a Columbus suburb, for more than 25 years.
