The holder of his markers agrees to let him try, but the stakes are high and the group plays for keeps. Then an innocent who accidently discovers the truth behind McDonalds murder is herself eliminated. Alex’s ex lover GLENN BUTCHER junior partner in the family’s law firm, is brought in from Virginia to legally assist Alex in retaining legal title to the land? Does justice prevail? Are the killers identified? Does Alex finally tame the wandering Vince and satisfy both of their desires. This is Show Low, the first stop the Vince Roberts series - where one turn of the cards means as much today, as it did back in the 1870’s.
About the Author
I started writing in the late 80’s writing poetry. The story poems of Rod McKuen influenced my poetry and writing style. Poetry doesn’t make money however, but the brevity of the genre translates well into commercial writing. By ‘painting pictures with words,’ I laid the groundwork for much of the success I had in the business of writing for other people. Samples of my commercial work and writings, can be found at – Write4Me, ( www.write4me.net ) and G.A. Clark www.GAClark.com )
The original Vince Roberts / Hitchhiker saga was conceived years ago, using an unpublished poem I wrote in 1988 entitled ‘The Hitchhiker’. The premise and the story stayed with me. This year, I gave the original poem a voice and a persona. Using The Hitchhiker as my outline, Show Low is my first step onto the fiction path and first stop in the Vince Robert Series. The book has been through eight reading by a variety of people, two of whom are editors/proof readers. The others were buyers of this particular genre. Their opinions have all been very favorable and their individual critiques, helped shape the characters and the premises to what you see now. Their enthusiasm for the character encouraged me to begin the 2nd in the Vince Robert’s series. The second novel tentatively entitled Angle Fire, of which 17,350 words are written, further explores Vince’s exploration of out of the way western locations and their people.
