SEMMASTER

Semmaster is the pseudonym that I choose,
It's the essence of who I am and what I do,
The S stands for Steven, a crown of great worth,
"E" is Eugene, well born of this earth,
The Surname is Miller, from father to son,
The Master is whom I seek and hope someday to become,
One with his spirit, intertwined with his soul,
The master of my own destiny with the knowledge to know,
That through Christ I stand here all naked and clothed,
With the innocence of his blood and the warmth of his soul,
I am just a man, as you can see,
I'm not holier than thou nor more righteous than thee,
If you smack me in the face, I won't turn the other cheek,
Mess with my family...Your life I will seek,
I live each day as if it were the last,
I study the holy scripture I pray and I fast,
For knowledge to guide me through these troubling days,
As I etch out my path through life's deadly maze,
When life's arduous journey reaches the end of,
This physical form and my new life begins,
May the Lord lay me down for now and hereafter,
Say, "WELCOME HOME, MY SON... AND BY THE WAY,
GOOD JOB Semmaster."

THE LORD SAID

I asked the Lord a question,

He answered with a suggestion,

He said,
"Oh, My Son Of Little Faith,

Doth Thou Expect To Win, Without Entering The Race?

The Words I Placed Within Your Hands,

The Ones You Put To Ink?

Share Them With Your Fellow Man, And

Ask Not Of What "I" Think!

IAM The CREATOR Of All That IAM,

And All That IAM Is…

Semmaster's World Of Haiku

Haiku is a minimalist form of poetry. The writer has 17 or fewer syllables through which to convey an experience, usually about nature, weather or way of life. The sequence follows as five-seven-five lines (5-syllables 7-syllables-5-syllables). Semmaster added his own special touch on this ancient Japanese form of prose by placing three of them under one…

WEATHERING THE STORM

Through diligence, sacrifice and pain,

We till and toil in the fields,

While bending our backs to plant the grain,

We proudly watch our gardens yield.

Through obeisance, desire and anticipation,

We make amends to entreat our God,

While providing a sacrifice of the Lord’s creation,

His servants prophesize with a mighty rod.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and the rest,

Made a…

Times Of Old

I'm sitting here thinking about my past and looking to see how things have changed from then until now. I remember, as a child, running around the neighborhood getting into and out of trouble. Those were the days when every adult figure could and would smack you upside your head for getting out of line. Those were the days when no one ever locked their doors and you could just walk into a neighbor's house and ask them to make you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and get it. Those were… Continue
