Something About Me and My Book:
Ruth Nott is 65, a native Floridian, born in the Orlando area, who has
found poetry to be a valued part of her life. Her poetry reflects her
faith and values and a deep love for God and family.

In addition to her poetry, Ruth keeps busy in retirement with her
friends in the “Mad Hatters” and “Springhouse” quilt guilds, is a
member of the Suwannee River Poets of Chiefland, FL, and is active in
the First Christian Church of Chiefland, FL.

Her work has been published in various anthologies of the International Library of Poetry, small press magazines, Poetry Canada magazine, The Quilter magazine, The Joy of Living Poetry Collection by Hazel Street Publications, Sea Oats Review a magazine by the Panama City Writer’s Assoc., Mahogany and Molasses, Verse-a-tility (chapbook of the Chiefland Poetry Group), Anthology Twenty-Four of the Florida State Poets Assoc., Inc., Of Poets and Poetry (newsletter of the Florida State Poets Assoc., Inc.), The Easterner (a publication of State Farm Insurance Company), Family Matters (an anthology by Ruth’s family), various other newsletters, and several poetry websites,
blogs, and groups.

Ruth has self-published four books of poetry which include A Pure and Simple Faith, Crazy Patch, Where Memory Lingers, and Haiku for Lovers.

Her fifth book Garden of Faith is printing now. Garden of Faith is a two-fold venture into bringing Ruth’s own faith, commitment and hopeful attitude to others in need. Combining all the poems you loved in her first book A Pure and Simple Faith with as many more fresh new poems, Garden of Faith will enlighten, uplift, and encourage. Her poems will soothe and calm, refresh your spirit and touch on some of the questions and doubts we all face in our search for personal happiness and spiritual healing.

Hello Ruth,
Thank you for your kind invitation, however I am more Buddhist than Christian, if I were to pick a religion that is. I can say that God comes first in my life, and I follow the "Chruch of the Heart," which are those quiet messages that come from within. I believe we are all children with the same God, no matter what our religion. As such, I do not think I would be appropriate for your groups. Wishing you all the best. Kathe G

Hello again,

I'm sorry I haven't made time to come to this site more often. Yes, I'm happy you joined FL Writers Assn. Our latest magazine should be finished in about two weeks and you'll get one mailed to you.

On my comments page I got the message that you didn't have your link on our member sites page. I went there to double check and although I'd put it in after you joined, somehow a stray character was in the URL. I just fixed it and please forgive me for not doing that sooner. From the member page, you can see my name at the bottom, with an email link, so any time in the future, just click it to tell me what you need. I'm happy to help.

In coming issues of the quarterly Florida Writer we'll get details about the 2008 conference in Lake Mary. We always get a wonderful keynote speaker. Have had Richard Paul Evens in 07, Piers Anthony in 06. I can't wait to see who we have this year! And I hope to be able to meet you at the conference.

Hi Ruth,

I think you may be interested in FL Writers Assn.
It's a wonderful group for learning, networking, and submitting work to the quarterly magazine. It's actually not only for Florida any more. We have national and even a few international members!

If you'd like to check it out, please come to http://www.floridawriters.net.

I also run the FL Authors online group at bookmarket. You can join it, regardless of your FWA affiliation.

Have a good week,
Shara
