Something About Me and My Book:
From darkness into light… This frank memoir of “inappropriate love” from a father, coming out, “escape” to the Middle East, and spiritual growth will inspire those struggling toward their own healing truth.
Veiled oppression of Arabian women was the crucial mirror needed to see her reflection. The Middle East would become her life’s metaphor. The stark emptiness of the desert echoed her internal desolateness—until she saw the oasis. Join her search for what she thought was lost—her soul.

Edna Whitehouse now goes by her nickname, Samadhi—which means “Being in the moment, and being one with the Divine.” Each time she hears Samadhi, it reminds her that she is part of love—a continuous affirmation.
Samadhi began her writing career by winning two contests; the first was for Focus On Women, a Victoria-based magazine. Her essay, “Two Hearts In One,” spoke of her healing journey through her first heart surgery, and the correlation of illness and forgiveness. Her second essay, “A Gut Reaction,” for the on-line magazine, Outback, showed the risks as well as the fun of exotic travel abroad. Samadhi recently won 2nd place in The Labyrinth Society 2006 on-line poetry contest for her poem Forty-eight Before Fifty.
At the age of forty-eight, Samadhi decided it was time to dive into her passion and give full-time writing a chance. The outcome is Circles in the Sand. Her writing goals include three future non-fiction books, “Separated at Birth” and "Three-Heart Harmony," and “Where Are They Now?”.
A writer who has never forgotten what it feels like to be young and to be silenced, Samadhi’s messages are: Break the cycle of dysfunction. Find your voice—be heard. Take back your own power.
After years of travel, including visiting, living, and/or working in Europe, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, India, Egypt, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Thailand, Samadhi now lives in Victoria, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island—surrounded by the ocean and its life force.

Hey Jim--thanks for the ideas! I did actually grab the list of book readers shown on the site but somehow, it had to go through her {odd} BUT in life, it's best to choose to eliminate the "her's" or "roadblocks" and find a way to go around it or climb it to reach the summit! Yeah, you've given me a spot of motivation to just keep asking. I'm sticking with "if I can touch one, I can touch one million" and so...off I go again! Thanks for checking in and may we ALL have glorious success stories throughout 2008....

Cheers,
Samadhi {www.samadhiwhitehouse.writerswebpages.com}

Hi EJ Find book clubs like you found dates when you were young. You ask. Ask everyone if they are a reader first. That narrows the quest. If they are a reader do they belong to a book club. If yes--bingo. If not--do they know of a book club, have a friend or acquaintance in a book club. Add them up. Trade them with friends. There is a guy in California who has amassed 1,000 book clubs across the US. I have asked to buy his list. He won't sell it. BUT he is working out a plan to share it some way and should have that plan ready soon--he says. Jim
