Poem: Within My Heart

Can the pain of human suffering

prevent me from being made whole?

How should I properly express

the inner dimensions of my soul?

Can the depth of my understanding

reach that of King Solomon’s intellect?

How often must I pray to receive

answers from the Divine architect?

Thankfully, my Lord is merciful,

gracious and patient with me;

for I carefully consume His Word,

wanting these blind eyes to see.

The treasure of Your Word’s…

Poem: With Assurance, Confidence and Boldness

It’s true; I can never be separated,

from the eternal Love of my Lord.

No possible form of earthly trouble,

can take away Salvation’s reward.

The times of tribulations will pass,

be it suffering, calamity or distress.

Christ’s seed of righteousness in me,

brings forth the joy of sacred rest.

With my faith, I will persevere,

moving through today’s affliction.

Since I belong to Him, victory is…

already promised, under His horizon.

When…

Saving Mr. Banks is A Movie Authors Should See.

"Saving Mr. Banks" may have some historical inaccuracies but alas we have come to expect that from Hollywood. After all it is a place where dreams are made.

If you are an author or aspiring author I suggest that you will enjoy this movie recounting the film rights negotiations between "Mary Poppins" author P.L. Travers and the quintessential manufacturer of childhood fantasy, Walt Disney.

It is a story about the relationship that authors have with their characters. The truths…

Free, Illegal Downloading

Does anyone have any ideas about what we can do about these sites that offer free downloading for books we've written? I just googled one of my titles and found two sites that offered its download for free. I tried contacting both of them, but was unable to get through.

Surely there has to be something we can do to stop them. I'm not a bestselling writer, and it really bugs me to spend months on a book just to have some…

What I am reading.

The Alienist by Caleb Carr

As for my current reads-the book that I am most enthralled with is entitled The Alienist, by Caleb Carr. It is most akin to that Johnny Dep movie, From Hell. Only this story takes place eight years after the Jack the Ripper murders of London. In 1896 New York City is being plagued by a new serial killer. New York's finest are at a loss as to how to catch this monster. It is up to a small group of unlikely detectives, that include an alienist(…

The English in France. Part 1.

2008 127 (800x691)   George was getting old.  Ten is quite an age for a Great Dane.   During our travels he slept in the back of the car on a sequence of foam mattresses with a sequence of blankets - all of which got flung out and replaced regularly because it was easier than washing them.  In Dubrovnik I bought him a blanket with bunnies on it.  I swear he was cross!…

What I am reading.

Swords of Gehenna by D.R. Collins

In this Sci-Fi Western written by a member or our very own Book Marketing Network, the reader is submerged into an alien world of sword warriors native to Gehenna, human frontier settlers and a full host of other assorted races both alien and indigenous.

The opening chapter draws the reader right into the warrior ways of the Titavos people and introduces the main protagonists of Makaira and Thura. There are enough elements of…

What I am reading.

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Science fiction of the dystopian variety is having a resurgence in popularity. The Hunger Games series is hugely successful: both book and film. When I was a kid, Logan's Run gave a more far future sci-fi glimpse into a society that appeared utopian on the surface, but soon shows that not all people are so willing to die at such a young age. And of course, the mother of all dystopian science fiction stories, 1984, in which society is constantly being…
