Natural Disasters Lift Writer's Block

I wrote my book Realm of Hope in 7 days. Hurricane Ike left us with no electricity or contact with outside world. Every night during this time I had a dream that played out like a movie and the next day I went outside, sat on the patio and wrote down everything that I remembered. After the 7 days were up, I had a completed book.

This is my first novel and it goes wide release March 5 and I will be doing book signing around Arkansas. My Screenplay is now in the hands of Robert… Continue

Why a Wedding Planner?

Why should I hire a Wedding Planner?

I come accross this questions many times and it still surprises me.

Imagine this, you are creating a movie that will create memories for a life time and more, this day will be played in your mind and hearts over and over. You will even sit down and talk about it over generations to come. It so happens that you are the STAR main character of this movie; why should you be worried about… Continue

An Interview with Pat Guppy - Part IV

'An Interview with Pat Guppy' for 'Her Ladyshipness Magazine'

Questions posed by Hyacinth Bootley-Smythe

Q: You are very busy arranging for your husband's memorial and so forth. Are you still managing to maintain your charitable works?

A: Of course. Nothing will ever prevent me from being selfless and tending to those in need. I have, within the past fortnight, attended no less than three charity dinners and two luncheons, all in aid of bus shelter number six on Sea… Continue

Worry

WORRY

Worry is to feel or express great care and anxiety, to fret. To worry is to have something constantly on the mind and agonizing over it. It can give a sick feeling. It can also be expressed through speech and action. The mind is agitated and there are complaints, there is impatience and irritability. In other words, there is no peace.

Sometimes worry can consume hours, days even weeks out of your life. You try to throw it off, but it clings like static. It clings… Continue

In the Presence of God

Exodus 33:1-23

In this week’s discussion we will look at some of the blessing of being in the presence of the Lord; as a background to this week’s topical discussion which is based on the renewal of the covenant with the nation of Israel. This lesson’s setting takes place at Mount Sinai during Israel’s journey out of Egypt as they had become very sinful which caused Moses to intercede for them on many occasions. In verse 1, we see the Lord telling Moses what to tell the people, that… Continue

an excerpt from my current work

Bowing curtly, the great wolf left the dragons to their celebration. Skool followed the crystal spring whose green-blue waters flowed through the deep valley. His keen maize eyes watched the minions of Death go about their business. They kept busy harvesting the souls of the newly departed. Each servant hung shimmering globes on an eternally expanding row of vines and bushes. Skool studied every sphere and the soul it contained. The wolf knew well the shimmering hues of Death and its goddess… Continue
