By not celebrating Christmas would send this economy into a tail spin. Everybody would be affected- from Taxi cab drivers to baby sitters, airlines, hotels, gas stations, etc. I cannot think of any industry that would not be affected. Even China would suffer. Just think if all the Christians just decided to not buy gifts, cards, or candy at Christmas. I bet a lot of Jewish retailers would convert to Christianity. Everybody would be once again proclaiming Merry Christmas again. Large…

The week is winding down and we are still blazing a hot trail here @ Gelati’s Scoop. We had a fun interview this morning with Laurie Bowler, the vampire/paranormal/romance author of Moon Rising, Across the City and many other novels. Please check our archives for the post we had on those novels. Non-fiction is not something I pick up too often, but when I see something inspirational like this, it just seems to jump into my hand. Have you seen the movie, ”The Blind Side”? Yeah, this is the…

Hi, it is me, the G-man, Giovanni Gelati, he of Gelati’s Scoop blog and The G-Zone blogtalk radio show. I am going to get right to the point because I don’t want to waste your time or mine.
I’m going to sound a bit pretentious here, but what I have been building and the direction in which I want to go is a departure from the stale same old, same old. What is different that I have to offer and sets me apart from other services out there? Simply I am not in the same sandbox as they are.…

My midweek blog post tells the story of artist James Whistler's favorite dog and an ENT surgeon.
Whistler’s Poodle and the Eminent Surgeon.
American born, British based artist, James Abbott Whistler (1834 - 1903) famed for paintings such as ‘Arrangement in Grey and Black, the Artist’s Mother’ (yes, the picture in the first Mr. Bean movie!) and Old Battersea Bridge, was an animal lover. Whistler owned a tortoiseshell cat, but his favorite pet was…

Under the duress of the sacrificial Cross
and positioned between two thieves,
the culmination of grace for the World
was granted - via Jehovah’s heavenly reprieve.
Surrounded by the stench of death,
Christ uttered famous words of forgiveness;
enduring human suffocation with each dying breath,
His Light steadfastly opposed foreboding darkness.
His heart was forcefully punctured,
by a soldier’s upward, piercing blow.
Ripping the spear from the…

Man-made structures can’t last
against the blows of a spiritual blast.
As demonstrated at Jericho, walls tumbled down;
its destruction was truly inevitable!
For it was illegally stationed on holy ground.
Inside out, God moves on our heart from within;
subtly He motivates us to have Him purge our sin.
Against the barriers of our personal defense,
His Holy Spirit continually and lovingly flows,
easily overtaking our five,…

I highly recommend the following list of books to help promote and generate social media marketing buzz and (ultimately) revenue for your written works. After procrastinating, and working an extra [part-time] gig, I committed to purchasing at least two per month. It was a gutsy call, but the investment in ones dream is always well worth it!
