Big thank you to everyone - now please can we do it again?

I wanted to say a big thank you to eveyone on the Ning network who placed a vote for my novel 'A Study in Red - the Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper' in the recent Authors Lounge Cover Illustration Award Poll. Thanks to the wonderful response I received after showing the cover here, the book was successful in winning the May award.

Now I have to ask if we can please do it again, as my cover for 'Purple Death' has been nominated for the June award in the same contest. If anyone is… Continue

Is It November Yet???

Thinking About Politics...

Here we are in the middle of a presidential election, and I find myself ready to vote for none of the above. There are 100 U.S. Senators, 435 Congressmen and women, 9 members of the United States Supreme Court, and one president, all of whom have vowed to defend and uphold the constitution of the United States of America, all of whom make themselves exempt from the laws that they pass “for our welfare.”

We have become, not a nation of laws, but a… Continue

Associated Content held an Ultimate Call for Content Contest where everyone who enters submits one 500-word article on a topic of their choice, that had a few other specifications, and then the winner is going to get a $5000 prize.

Am I in the write place ?

Hello Ladles and Jellyspoons.

I stumbled across BMN when commenting on a book cover and decided to join.

I wrote my first (demand) book Inn Keeping with Mr Fawlty which is an anecdotal humorous memoir of my time in the hotel / hospitality trade. The book has sold well in the UK and has had some success in the States. I am told that Americans love Fawlty Towers on which the book is based.

I have just finished my first draft of the follow up book on the… Continue

Virtual Book Tours and Internet Marketing Promotion

As announced yesterday, I’ve started on a month-long virtual book tour (organized by www.pumpupyourbookpromotion.com) for MRS. LIEUTENANT. In actuality this is a blog tour, because – without leaving my own computer – I get “interviewed” on people’s blogs or I get to write a guest post for other people’s blogs. This is a great co-promotional opportunity because the author promotes the guest blogger and the guest blogger promotes the… Continue

Virtual Book Tour: Day 2 Stop for MRS. LIEUTENANT at Boomer Chick Blog

The moral of today’s boomer chick guest post (www.overthehillchick.blogspot.com) is: If you’re waiting for someone to say yes to you for whatever it is, at this age look around and see if, instead, you can say yes to yourself!

And I share the saga of the long journey to publication for MRS. LIEUTENANT: A SHARON GOLD NOVEL in order to encourage other boomer chicks. Here’s an excerpt from the guest post:

“Almost 20 years… Continue

Office Space meets Cinderella?

Got 60 seconds? That's the amount of time it would take to read the daily installments of CORPORELLA: An Office Space meets Cinderella tale set in the tough-as-(manicured)-nails Texas cosmetics industry.

This is one of many of my screenplays and I though I would serialize it on my blog throughout the month of June.

It's not Tolstoy, but if you've ever worked in a cubicle, this story has something for you.
