For book/ebook authors, publishers, & self-publishers
A novel is more than just a story set in a town with characters engaged in dialogue – it is a life portrait of the main character and the world in which they live.…

Golf is not my game. I can putt well, my short game isn’t so bad and I can whack the heck out of the ball off the tee, problem is that it never goes in the same direction twice. Straight is not a description I hear
much about my drives. Anthony Robinson with The American Golfer drives this
novel right up onto the green, a beautiful drive and finish to this passionate
novel that uses golf as a backdrop. There are no bogies in…

Is it just me, or does it really SUCK to be a financially strapped author? I think impercuniosity just sucks like an imploding black hole. I have a few hours paid work scheduled for tomorrow (I work casually as a law clerk), because tragically (for me) my writing won't pay my bills. If I did have lots of money, I'd pay my bills on time and get my mortgage paid off. I wouldn't be hoovering Bolivian marching powder up my hooter, that's for sure. Still, it seems people with trust funds like the…

What do you do when your child comes home from school and asks questions about God versus what he learned today in science class? It's normal for kids to question beliefs and values and it's difficult to counter the information that's being fed to them every day in public schools.
Christian educator, David Millette, has written a brave new book, Today in Science Class: Ben's Big Bang…

The results are in for a short story I entered this summer in White County Creative Writers Contests at Searcy, Arkansas. I was awarded sixth place for a version of the story I received second place for in an earlier contest. This time the story could only be 1500 words. That meant I had to do some drastic cutting and at the same time keep the basic story in tact. I managed to do just that, but I like the longer version better so that is my post for today. This story takes place during the…

I have received a lot of messages and questions about this novel. What do you think of it? How good is it? Does she deliver again? How much is Diesel actually in it? I could go on and on and on. I love it.
Hopefully within the confines of this post I will answer all the questions that
you may have, and then just do yourself a favor and click on the Amazon book cover
here and suck this bad boy up. I laughed my fanny off and then some. I had many
of the…

Trying to get authors on television is the biggest challenge for anyone marketing books. Individual press releases sometimes work but with producers being very busy people I doubt they read them all. You're heading has to jump out at them and be extremely topical. Timing is everthing.
I've come across authors with special books that I was sure should get a spot on a program but none of the pitches worked no matter how enticing I thought they were. Other times the ones you don't think…

Hello to everyone and thanks for checking with us on our second Self-Published Sunday. I can only thank my OCD for having different titles for different days of the week. I
struggle still with at least four days of the week, but I think that conundrum
will be solved soon. Anyway, we have featured self-published authors in the
past and since the very beginning of our blog oh those many days and novels
ago. Things have changed and morphed as things do as…
