Is there such a thing as unnecessary book marketing material?

I had a discussion with someone who stated that some marketing material is unnecessary as they won't make a difference ini book sales. I 100% disagree and believe that every piece of marketing material is needed and it isn't just about having the marketing material but how you use it. Is it just me or do you agree with this individual.

Just got some great publicity; feature posted to Google News & AP

Just got some great publicity on my civil rights books. Feature story on my work has been posted to Google News and AP.

Susan Klopfer believes the long, sad chapter of American history surrounding the civil rights struggles of African Americans should never be forgotten. Using her journalistic talents, she’s authored two books focused on unsolved atrocities in the Mississippi Delta region that have brought new light to several… Continue

Poem: Human Matrix

Forcing an alignment of corporate resources

for some theory of best fit correlation

doesn't work on Kingdom People

when using an unspoken method of tabulation.

If Life is about true spiritual growth,

then why do ministries attempt to pigeon-hole

not making any allowances for us

to develop, expand and break our current mold?

Despite multitudes of outcome possibilities

the Church seems to suffer bouts of paralysis

from the continued… Continue

Behind the Poem: Enoch

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. In this installment, I speak to a poem that ends in a direction, not initially considered...

I've attended Church services for more than 3.5 decades; as a youth, I was raised in a Baptist Church (in southern Maine). For those unfamiliar with this division of Christianity, there's nothing more important than studying… Continue

A hand to my abused sisters

"A Hand to my sisters"

It's my intention to be there for you with a kind word and a helping hand.

To be able to reach you no matter where you are, so know that I care, I hope you understand.

Giving you hope in the midst of your trials or storm is what I've planned.

I will constantly send you prayers all through the land.

You are a rare and unique work of God, you're not some ordinary brand.

Sending hope so that you… Continue

Arcadia Snips and the Steamwork Consortium

I've been working on this for quite a while, now--an online illustrated steampunk novel, with a marketing model wherein one chapter is posted every week (on Mondays) until the whole thing is online; we're up to chapter 16, now, with 30 chapters + an epilogue to go (approximately four months left). Meanwhile, the complete novel is available for purchase on the site by… Continue

#8 WHICH PATH TO TAKE? WHICH PARTNER? WHAT BUSINESS TO START? IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO DISCERN THE PATH OF TRUTH FOR YOURSELF NOW ….YOUR LIFE WILL BE INCREASINGLY PAINFUL!

We have been taught WHAT to believe for thousands of years and yet NEVER taught how to discern truth for ourselves. The time is past for us to have any mediator, leader, prophet, teacher, governmental head, etc. between us and that which created and loves us endlessly and KNOWS what is in our own best good! If you CAN’T discern what your purpose is, who is good for you and who isn’t, what business to go into, what partners to work with or marry, etc. then you must continue, out of necessity, to… Continue

Unscrupulous

The realisation that things never run smoothly in my life is well cemented! I’ve often pondered on why this is the case. Perhaps, it really is because of past transgressions? Who knows? Perhaps the truth is a little simpler. Some of us are just fated to have bad luck follow us along every step of the way on this journey known as life.

Well, I’m one of them.

Spain has given me a lot of opportunities. Back in Old Blighty, there never seemed to be any time to do anything at all. As a… Continue

on the outside of an abusive relationship, looking in

"On the outside of abuse looking in"

Seeing a loved one being abused in a simple situation that we all can turn into a drastic one is sure torment. We can give all the suggestions as to what the abused should but they are the only one that can make that decision. Even though the threat has been a verbal one, I'm on pins and needles every second of the day and night. It is not only their life that may be at stake, mine and my familes life may be also. Our lives and privacy has been… Continue

Behind the Poem: Evening Sky

Now that people are becoming more aware of my poetic efforts, interests are being expressed regarding the background of my poetry - in addition, to my spiritual muse. One never knows exactly when the Spirit of God will move on your soul; fortunately I was paying a little bit of attention, one cold winter night...

Poem: Eternal Wellspring

Wellspring of spiritual water,

It's bubbling inside me.

Gently soothes my bruised soul -

Covering Life's pain of mystery.

Unseen surging river,

Courses through body mortal -

Renewing my energy,

Forced through this open portal.

Full to overflowing,

Come stand next to me,

Let the excess splash on you -

To prime your own jubilee.

This internal source,

Never shall run dry;

For Hope springs eternal,

Keeping… Continue
