Hi everyone,
We (the authors) have been blogging away in advance of the winter release of Maybe Tomorrow by Mythica Publishing. This is the second of two anthologies in this genre that Mythica Publishing are releasing in the run up to Christmas and my own story, "The Gardener" finds its home in this one. The anthology is comprised of eight science fiction short stories across wildly varying styles from dark/horror to comic and speculative fiction.
Here is the link to our…

I read a few news stories recently reporting that during these challenging economic times, fast food consumption is up. Some might think that just the opposite would be true; that is until you are the hungry one and you only have three bucks in your pocket.
As one who discovered the value of the “dollar menu” at McDonald’s many years ago, I can testify to the inexpensive satisfaction that can be bought for three dollars and a trip through the drive through. I’d like to site a few…

My book “I Can’t See, But…I Can Imagine” arrived on the scene in December 2003. Although I have always loved to write, I never once dreamed I would actually author a book. In 1994 I began producing my blind grandmother’s wonderful music. Five are for children…..delightful! At the time I belonged to the local songwriter’s association. When the children’s songs were completed everyone loved them….especially children. I kept hearing things like, “Wow! They are awesome, but there is no market for…

On Saturday, October 10, 2009, I put myself out there for the first time. I was nervous at first because I didn't know what to expect but everything went well. A lot of people who were genuinely interested in
Choices stopped by my table. Twenty copies were sold. I was hoping for more, of course, but I do thank God for each and every sale. Some who didn't buy a copy on Saturday did say they might go oline to
buy a copy later. I hope…

Choices is an intense, emotional read - mostly because of the domestic violence scenes. I didn't like writing them but that's the world Shauntice lives in; the world I lived in growing up. I didn't like writing the acquaintance rape scene either, but there is a lesson there. So, if you like intense, emotional, oh, and fast-paced... if you like stories that evoke just about every emotion (I laughed, got angry and even cried at times as I wrote it),
Choices will satisfy.
If…

No, not my narcissism, that of others. I'm stunned, awed, and amazed at the smattering of comments I've received on this site already. Almost without exception there has been blatant self-promotion and complete disregard for anything / everything I posted.
Am I upset? No, not at all. Impressed at the level of ambivalence displayed in the marketing machine that many people have evolved into though. Odds are these people are quite successful at what they do, since they are indeed…

Ah marketing! How I hate it! I think most writers do.
Marketing oneself as a writer. It does make one feel like a bit of a prostitute at times, no doubt about it. Not only do we have to have good imaginations these days, the ability to come up with plots and actually take months to write them down, take the abuse of publishers and their numerous rejections, but we have to do so much more! We have to market ourselves, and our work.
And that "ain't easy!" It can be…

RECALL NOTICE:
The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.
This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed "Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily…

How many of you are planning on attending the BEA in NY for 2010?
What do you hope to gain from attending?
I am attending again this year and am hoping to meet some publishers, PR people and marketing people, authors and friends I have met with in the past at BEA. I am also hoping to meet the publishers who have sent me contracts to look over and possibly get another publishing contract.
Let me know if you will be there and share your tips for success!
