As an author your email signature is a fantastic place to distinguish yourself and stand-out from the crowd of emails that your recipients receive. In fact, it's an excellent way to unobtrusively market your book to all your email recipients. Let's do the math about the size of this marketing opportunity ... if you send an average of 10 emails a day you've got over 300 opportunities a month to tell your email recipients (clients, coworkers, friends, family and vendors) about your… Continue

I have great ideas about writing I can write for hours on end about far away places and times, but when it comes to marketing I have to admit I am downright stumped.
It would seem like a form of writers block however it is not strictly the case it seems more like a case of not knowing how to blow ones trumpet.
Now I will be the first to admit that I am not a man without sin but blowing my trumpet is not one of my sins at least I don’t think so.
Today we were absolutely thrilled by a comment made by noted novelist and champion of the Free e-Day movement - Dan Holloway in his blog.
In the entry Dan says, "not only do they care about writers - they listen to writers. They respond swiftly to feedback - they will even try to make changes. They actually want to give writers a tool that works for them. And they've succeeded. Bookbuzzr… Continue

A few weeks ago, we had an email interaction with Henry at SelfPublishingReview.com, who made a very valuable suggestion for improving the user interface and readability of BookBuzzr on Mac systems. When we made the fix, Henry suggested that we write a guest post about running a book-marketing site.

We're excited to make some major feature releases today. These features relate to Twitter. The idea is to help authors market their books on Twitter with a large degree of automation (and without annoying the Followers of the authors :))
If you are a new or existing author on BookBuzzr, this instruction guide should help you add in your Twitter details and start marketing your book on Twitter.…
By now, you probably know that Twitter can be a fantastic tool to generate massive traffic, build your author platform and sell more books. Jack Armstrong, author of the deeply moving book - Lessons From the Source - sent in an email asking me how he or his fans could tweet his book on Twitter. So we decided to put up this quick tutorial to help Jack and others who may have this query regarding BookBuzzr. Please note that we have a number of new twitter features planned in the coming two weeks… Continue
If we’re book authors and we want to sell more books – and who doesn’t – we need to use all the savvy of traditional marketers and Internet marketers to help sell our books.
In my opinion one of the most overlooked book promotion strategies is what I call “persuasive selling.” It’s putting yourself in the potential buyer’s mind.
In other words, instead of saying what you want to say about your book, you say what the potential buyer needs to hear to be motivated to buy your… Continue
A good friend said to me: “Why would anyone be on Twitter?” Mind you, he’s never been on Twitter and he doesn’t know a thing about it. But he’s a successful lawyer and thinks he knows what’s what.
In reply, I’ve decided to come up with a list of answers for when someone asks you this question:
1. Getting news updates before the news media
2. Asking technical software/hardware questions and getting answers
Getting started on social media can often be deceptively simple – What’s the big deal? You sign up. – or intimidating – Why am I being asked for my date of birth? – or overwhelming – How do I find people to friend or follow?
The truth is that this is a world of official and unofficial rules. It is easier if you start out knowing what’s what, and this is probably especially important if you’re more of an introvert.
Let’s imagine you already use email, search for information… Continue
Book authors sell their books -- the fruits of their writing labor. Thus it may seem counterintuitive to recommend that, for online book marketing success, book authors must be willing to share abundant free content.
Why is this?
On the Internet people are usually looking for relationships (connections) before buying something. Even if the book author has an effective website – one that makes it immediately clear what’s on offer and provides an easily visible BUY button,… Continue
I have two books that are published and I want to market them. My first book, "Mind Full of Scorpions" is a journey through severe mental illness and my second book is "Daily Meditations With Your Cat" which is an inspirational book centered around sages, saints, sinners, hymn writers, poets, and of course cats. I do not have the money to put into a professional marketing package so I'm looking for inexpensive or fee methods to do some kick ass marketing. I need to generate royalties from my… Continue

Ok. So i've decided to try this blog thing. Don't know how much i can actually write to keep you interested, but i'm going to try. I joined this website and a few others, hoping to Advertise and Market my book (s). I never thought trying to get people to my work would be so dang hard. I was excited when i completed 'Two-Play in 2006 and even more elated when i took the risk of sending out my manuscript.
When i say risk i mean risk, because at the time, i… Continue
