My forthcoming novel 'Glastonbury' has been nominated for The Authors Lounge Best Cover Illustration Award for August 2008. The beautifully haunting design for this book was created by Graeme S Houston and I personally think it is the finest piece of artwork he has ever created for a book.
I hope my friends won't mind me asking to support my nomination by casting a vote for the book at
http://www.talauthors.com/TAL/RomanceandMoreAwards.htm and I thank you all in advance for…

Soon after the release of my novel 'A Study in Red - The Secret Journal of Jack the Ripper', I was approached by the editor of the Journal of 'The Whitechapel Society 1888' and asked to write an article for their June issue, telling of the genesis of the book. The society, based in London, studies not only the crimes of Jack the Ripper, but the history of Victorian and Edwardian London in general. I felt privileged to be asked to contribute to the journal of this prestigious society, and the…

There are certain things many authors do that murders their manuscript. These things can render your manuscript worthless in the site of any legitimate agent or publisher. Some of those no-nos are:
1. Undeveloped characters and/or storylines - if you're going to write, do it well. Take time to give your characters a life of their own. Make sure your story is not too short or too long. Make sure it doesn't leave any unanswered questions, unless of course, you plan to write a sequel or…

'A Study in Red' has this morning reached the heady heights of #16 in the Amazon.co.uk JTR bestselling listings, it's highest position yet. Yesterday it was at #41, so some serious sales have taken place in the last 24 hours to cause such a meteoric rise up the chart. I never thought my book would ever appear in a Best Seller list of any sort, so I'm more than thrilled with it's performance.
I'm delighted and amazed at such a sudden surge in interest in the novel. I know my…
