I've been in need of some inspiration lately. It's the dog days of summer after all. So, we got in the car and headed to the Grand Canyon last weekend. The Hualapai Indians have opened their new Skybridge and we wanted to check it out. The views of the west end of the Grand Canyon are terrific. On a side note: Grand Canyon West is expensive ($20 to park, $30 per person to enter, $30 per person to walk on the Skybridge). $80 for a lovely view seems extreme to me. Starting my Ph.D.

No time like the present! I've started new student orientation and my actual classes for my Ph.D. begin in a few short weeks. It's going to be a long journey, but at the moment I'm psyched.
