How to Sell Books: Using Your Site and the Internet Social Media to Present Your Book

http://bit.ly/vjUIn To Read ALL and view an example.

A book-widget called BookBuzzr (available at www.freado.com.) is a portable author website that extracts book information, supplied by the author, and makes your content accessible on many social media sites (Facebook, Blogs, MySpace, LinkedIn, etc.). Now you can upload your pages (and just like a real book) your cover will be displayed on several of your personal profiles, including your web/blogsite, for your viewers to flip the pages and read.

Just think of the exposure. Now, not only fans; but also acquaintances (while reading your profile on a social media site), will be able to sample your book by just clicking on the cover. So, even if your personal site isn’t getting the traffic you’d hoped, others will soon discover your book through these massive traffic media sites.

BookBuzzr is FREE and will give you the exposure that you deserve. Try it. You can *conquer all obstacles* and successfully market and sell your book.

Blessings;

I think it's great. I give away samples of my writing all the time. It's a great way for someone to sample your style. Check out my site. http://www.rayshoop.com/ and my blog http://rshoop.blogspot.com/

I agree that sampling is important. I often go to Amazon for my online purchases because I can read the index and some sample pages. Often, I can know quickly if that is the book for me. Saves me lots of time and money.

Once I get my book completed, I plan to try and make samples available as a practice.

But I am not published yet, so I can only speak as a reader and as such I do like knowing a little before I buy.

Just my thoughts. Thanks, Shae.

I'm also going to include a link to a 30 minute BTR podcast I hosted last Tuesday called: Authors Articulating with Jo-Anne and Larry as reference to the comment I stated above.

Topic: The importance of building an author platform and why the marketing strategy must start now.

As a reference to the topic and points, I use John Kremer a couple of times through this LIVE show (cause I totally agree with what he has to say about Internet marketing).

Good question, Heidi, and I'm hoping others will respond with me.

Authors: What are your thoughts on giving away your books?

My answer to your question: "But do you really WANT people to be able to read your book free?"

No. My book is not going to be entirely uploaded for others to be able to read for free. Yet, saying this, I will supply a 'tease' or sample of my writing so my readers can decide for themselves if this is the type of book they'd be interested in purchasing.

But to expand...I have given away tons of information or content for potential readers/fans that will be drawn to my site because of this. Give, give, give...you then give some more. "Give and thou shall receive" is right on the money. Not only does giving content away for free draw attention and drive others back to your site; but, it also establishes a form of trust which is how relationships are built.

Hi Jo-Anne

Thank you for mentioning BookBuzzr. As you said we too believe BookBuzzr can help authors immensely in marketing their books. BookBuzzr was created based on the difficulties faced by an author in marketing his book and we now want to spread the benefit.

BookBuzzr shares an excerpt in an engaging form and its proven that offering an excerpt to read boosts sales. It also lets fans and friends share the widget on their profiles and sites and hence gets your book viral.

Sheila - We have tried to keep loading time and minimal and are constantly working to making BookBuzzr better. Do try it and let us know if you have any suggestions. We'd appreciate it.

Thanks again Jo-Anne.

Cheers
