I agree we have a lot in common. If you would like to donate a set of your books to my next fundraiser for Saint Judes Hospital it would introduce your product to a wide audience here in Los Angeles. The event is a kids day, complete with petting zoo. Many parents and children will attend (400). The event is Oct. 13 so I will need your gift basket by Oct. 1. Right now I am at work, so I don't have much time to chat, but I will get back to soon so we can exchange company info and helpful tips. Smiles, Tena

Ha! My "cabin" was on the ocean and I had an awesome view of the mountains for my muse! I will tell all my Mommy friends about The Patty Cake Kids book--if you know any teens my YA novel, CONFESSIONS OF A CATHOLIC SCHOOLGIRL might be right up their alley.

Hi Patricia.

I did go to your web site, very impressive. My books are intended to help kids too, especially boys, 8 - 13, who don't like to read.

It's nice to know you.

Patricia - try Quality Books as one library rep. Good reputation, and easier to get your titles accepted by than some of the others (like Baker & Taylor, for example).

Re: question on my page about libraries . . .

Patricia . . . Read chapter 16 of my 1001 Ways. Two reps (distributors) for libraries are Quality Books and Unique Books. You can find them by googling.

Thanks Steve for your input. I haven't used the forums before, I just read about them in a newsletter and was trying to find them. I'll check out the discussion feature and the book you mentioned. Thanks for your help!

Hi Patricia,

Are you thinking of the "customer discussion" feature on Amazon book detail pages? It seems only certain books have active discussions like those dealing with politics, religion, etc.

This parenting book has some active forums at the bottom of the page:
http://www.amazon.com/Parenting-Love-Logic-Updated-Expanded/dp/1576839540/

Just curious, how were you able to use the forums to spark sales in the past?

Good luck with your book -- sounds like a great idea!

Hi Patricia, thanks for your comments and my experiences is what started my writing career. I wanted my son's story told so I did my life story and included what happened to him and then I began speaking out against violence and the death penalty issue.

From there I wrote a couple of books on the death penalty issue and one on Vietnam Vets with PTSD. Then I wanted to warn teens about the danger of getting into drugs and alcohol and finding themselves in trouble so I wrote The Choice is Yours and made a DVD on TN death row. www.thechoiceisyours.org

All my books somehow have to do with things that have happened to me in life. When I was fifty seven I first got on a motorcycle and loved it. Bought my own bike and even when I crashed while learning, I still rode with a pink cast on my left ankle. I then wrote a book called, Road Angels www.roadangels.org about ladies who rode motorcycles....

I'm now writing one about ladies fifty and older and it's a fun book to write.. www.thereislifeafterfifty.com SHirley

Hi Patricia,
We're in Wisconsin often during our summer vacations near Minocqua. My husband likes to fish and I go over to Lake of the Torches and play the slots.

Hi Patricia -- thanks for your comment and good luck with your book! Most authors find promotion a bit overwhelming, so you have plenty of company. We all have those lengthy to do lists, but I've found that focusing my efforts specifically on my core audience has really paid off.
