Hi Marion, I just joined this site and, believe it or not I am writing series about the conflict between the Islamic Empire of the Ottomans and the Christian Kingdoms of Eastern Europe in 15-16th centuries. The first book is called The Sword and the Shield of the Realm and the series is called Merchants of Time. Occasionally, my website is visited by the University of Istanbul. This is not an attempt of promoting my work, but please visit my site and read in my profile about the series. I am truly interested to hear your opinion.

Dear Joel. Thanks for the comments about marketing to bookstores. Yes, if you can leave a small marketing pack with the bookstore I am sure it will increase your chances of them partnering with you. Best of luck

Hello Marion,
I recently read your post about the best way to approach a bookstore for sells. And might I say what an insightful post it was.
In your post on the subject of consignment sell in bookstores, you mentioned that it is more likely that the bookstore will work with you if they feel that author will pull the brunt of the marketing. Or something pertaining to that.
My quetion is this. If I were to take in with me, reviews, proof of marketing already done, media exposure dates of potential release, and things of this nature. Along with being organized and polite. Would this better my chances of landing a shelf spot in a book store?
Your insight to this question would be most greatly appreciated.
Thanks for inviting me Marion! I look forward to reading everything on your page, and chatting with you soon! Have a great day!

Hi Marion in Turkey {salem malenko!}... I tried to accept your invite as a friend but I don't see where or how to do it--can you help me? I must need "new-site-blogging-for-dummies-101". Your site looks great by the way and I would love to connect.
Hi Marion! Love the music---just like being in Turkey if you aren't!

Well.. they say imitation is the best form of flattery! I have "copied your idea" and put some Turkish music on my page to get people into the mood of this land that is a cross between the Middle East and Europe. I will load up some more of my favourite tracks tonight!

Thanks for the nice words. And thanks for the critique on the cover. My love for the beach may be taking over common sense. I will re-examine the image.
Feon, I don't really understand your comment. As a professional translator I would have to say that translation is much more than just knowing two languages, but being able to translate the essence, emotions and feelings behind a text so that it gives the same echo of resonance in the heart and mind of the native speaker of the new language. I doubt that a translation program is good enough to do this. We have all laughed at examples such as translating "it is raining cats and dogs" from English literally! In particular, for poetry it is even more of a complex task, as you may need to translate the rhythm, rhyme or melliflous flow or other literary device that the poet has chosen to use.
