Linda, how big is the Kern book festival? Who is invited? I have one I've put together with the town of Hanford to attract authors throughout the San Joaquin Valley. It's happening this Saturday. Only one Bakersfield author is attending, we'd love more in the future. It's a free event and authors keep all their sales.

Question. If I have ebook, and publisher does not put with Kindle or Nook, can I place it with Kindle and Nook?

Economy? May be more negative hype out there. Was talking to a "real estate" friend last weekend, and construction guy. They think things will bounce back, but not a boom, like the housing bubble of mid 2000s. More of an indicator might be the shift in Borders & BN store problems.

Have release date for "Control Thesis" for October 8. It's an ebook, so, now am in a quandary of sorts. Online promotions from publishers and my own websites, other sites, FB & Twitter, understandable. However, am not sure how to promote at events. Help? =:o

Authors are invited to sell at the Big Valley BookFest on Oct. 2 in Hanford, CA. Keep all your sales, tables are free. Details on event section.

Also, I'm participating in the San Luis Obispo event in front of the mission on Sept 19. I'll be at the Central Coast SinC table.

E-book trend seems to be growing, even though I am an old fashioned type of reader myself, however I've jumped into this, by just signing with an e-book publisher. More on this later as this story gets near the release date. How is this going to get promoted? Still learning that one.

Truly honored to have my book Lost Angel Walkabout –One Traveler’s Tales in the Book Passage Store for the Travel Writer’s Conference in Corte Madera, California, the nexus of the plexus for travel writers and photographers. Proud to say that Tim Cahill, “ America’s Best-Loved Adventure-Travel Writer” and the headliner for this event, gave me an interview that is included in the pages of my book. I look forward to re-connecting with the cream of the crop in the travel world Aug. 12-15.

Can't wait to cross the Golden Gate once again!
Cheers
Linda
