Something About Me and My Book:
I always wanted to be a writer, but I kept putting it off. On 9/11, I was a social studies teacher. I enjoyed that work, but the tragedy of the day reminded me that life is short. The following May I left teaching to pursue my dream.

My first novel, Innocent People, is a humble attempt to show the human side of the tragedy from the perspective of an American Muslim woman. The story is not about the event as much as the emotions generated by the event.

I am currently working on a series of novels, The Echoes Series. These books trace the life of Joshua Adams, a Chicagoan who becomes a Muslim after a tumultuous youth, and his friends and family. Characters include both Muslims and non-Muslims.

The first three books of the series--Echoes, Rebounding, and Turbulence--have been published. I'm working on the final two books--Ripples and Silence.
