As a writer, and an artist, I've written out my bio many times, but perhaps not as involved as here! This is tough to write! Do I brag about myself? Do I try for a bit of modesty? The straight forward facts can come out as pretty dull. Like, let's see, I'm 38, tall, I have brown hair and grey eyes, I'm happily married, and I'm an Illustration student at the Academy of Art University. (Well, that last bit is at least a little interesting, no?) I actually already have a B.A. from UCSC in Language Studies, so my hope is to transfer from AAU's BFA program to the MFA program within a year.
To get a feel for my writing, check out my books. I'll slap those into the Amazon section below. You'll enjoy them! (Everyone who has contacted me about them has enjoyed them very much. I only have that to go on, and my own confidence. If you hate fantasy, well... I don't know why you would hate fantasy. Read on.)
In the last few years, I've become more focused on my art, and I've done pretty well with it. I started off with digital art (and I have a lens on that, so, check out my lenses), but am working hard at traditional art now. I've done book and magazine covers aplenty! (Oh yeah, I do art commissions! Hit me up with a comment if you're interested!)
Now that you know a bit about me now, where did I come from? Okay, I assume you know where people come from. I have terrific parents, and two creative and successful younger siblings. Growing up I played violin, took art lessons, and decided early on that I wanted to write books. I worked on my writing since middle school, happily penning fantasy tales. From my late twenties to mid-thirties, I had the worst luck with agents. Even though I did have a couple reputable agents represent me, nothing great came out of it. Eventually, I decided that the writing itself was more important than getting the nod from a big publisher, so I self-published my books.
