I recently started my own publishing company and self published my first book titled Diary of a Sex Addict. I've been marketing my book locally and set up an account online with Amazon to get my book out there. I've joined different communities and has had my book reviewed my different book clubs. Does anyone have any other words of wisdom that would help me market my book?
Thanks for any information you can provide.

“911 what’s your emergency?” the operator asked.
“It’s my daughter Tiffany! I just came over and found her unconscious in her bed! Please send someone over here right away! She can’t die!” Tiffany’s mother cried hysterically.
“Ma’am, I need you to calm down. What’s the address there?”
“Hold on, let me find something with the address on it.” Tiffany’s mother ran into the kitchen and found a letter with her address on it. “Okay, I found it.… Continue

My very first novel, Freezer Burn, is being published by Echelon Press this fall. It's a murder mystery, and my tail is still waggin' about the whole process. I had fun writing it, I'm excited about seeing it in print, and I'm hoping readers like the story.
Speaking of story, here are a few notes to get you started:
1. It takes place in Placentia, California. Why? Because it's… Continue

I love newsletters. I think a lot writers don’t put out a newsletter because they don’t think anyone will read them, but I know there are readers who enjoy them.
Here are a few I like:

My novel Compulsion focuses on the mind of a serial killer, one who focuses his criminal efforts over a period of time and often develops a particular trademark to his murderous deeds. The studies I completed in criminology and forensic science were largely motivated by my interest in what makes these…
Well, good Tuesday morning to you all. I arrived home last after being on a small vacation. My wife, Gina and I spent some much needed time together. We work very hard at keeping a balance in our life together, and this past weekend was wonderful.
Okay, I have left you with no "Thoughts for Today" since last Thursday. So, here we go! Enjoy.
Facing, feeling, and accepting our own suffering keeps us from reenacting it on others.
So much has happened in the past 24 hours. I have been contacted by authors, author organization reps, reporters, book marketers, bloggers and finally, someone from Amazon. Amazon has been bombarded by emails from authors, orgs, marketers etc, and last night I noticed that Amazon in Seattle had checked out my blog posts. ;-)
Today I received an email from a senior member of the Amazon Communities team. He apologized and stated that my reviews had been reinstated.
I am a wife to a wonderful husband (sometimes!) and mom to two fabulous boys. While that sounds ordinary, each of us battles different chronic illnesses or diseases. We all look perfectly normal on the outside, but we have struggles that make it difficult to function in the outside world.
Six months ago, I began the journey of blogging with my personal blog, called “Having a Unique Family,” after hearing the phrase in my mind during… Continue

Another week and I’m still swimming along with the tide of success that my book has produced.
Today I was interviewed on “Writers In The Sky” about myself, my book, book promotion, and even why we drive on the left in England. It was a fun interview with Yvonne Perry, one you can share and enjoy at.

Since breaking the news yesterday about my battle with Amazon over reviews (ones I wrote on books I'd read) that they deleted (85 reviews) because I included author of Whale Song in my signature line, I've received emails and phone calls from concerned authors, many who tracked me down via the Internet after reading about me on Twitter, The Write Type or John Kremer's Marketing Tips email. Some authors have already discovered missing reviews; some have gone through the same hassle I… Continue
As a police officer I have seen the good, and the bad in this field. My goal is to help as many young kids stay away from drugs, gangs, and the prison system. I would like todays youth to know that if they choose a life of crime then their only destination will be a jail cell or death. My Book coming out is called "Listen Today So You Can Live Tomorrow." It will be out in May '09. Please help me with this project if you can help leave me a message thanks Duane.

All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down… Continue
